We had an amazing food tour with Mai in Hanoi! She was incredibly friendly, enthusiastic, and made the whole experience so much fun. She shared lots of interesting stories about the local culture, the history of the dishes, and everyday life in Hanoi, which made the tour much more than just a food experience. Her English was excellent, and she explained everything clearly while creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. We got to try a great variety of delicious local food, and Mai made sure everyone felt comfortable and had a fantastic time. We highly recommend Mai to anyone looking for an authentic, informative, and enjoyable food tour in Hanoi. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Mai is a wonderful tour guide. She is young, enthusiastic and intimately familiar with the Old Quarter where we had our tour. She took us to wonderful local spots that are hidden gems. She explained the history of the dishes, their peculiarities, and often about the families who created the dishes. We are traveling very light and focusing on collecting experiences. Mai, and her tour, provided a great one for us.
Must try food tour in Hanoi. Tour guide is very knowledgeable
Our guide Nick was terrific; very knowledgeable, great English, wonderful sense of humor. He took us to some truly authentic local spots where we got to enjoy some delicious food while learning about the beautiful city of Hanoi. A great way to explore and do very touristy things like have a Vietnamese coffee at Train Street. Highly recommend.
The private food tour was definitely one of two highlights during my family trip to Hanoi. Bob was a phenomenal guide who spoke perfect English and was able to connect not only to my husband and me but also to our teenage children. He was very knowledgeable about the local food scene and expertly navigated us through the different dishes he introduced us to. After the tour, Bob shared a list of the dishes/restaurants we visited on the tour as well as some of his other favorite picks around the city. He has a fun personality and helped keep my whole family engaged and laughing even though we were all jet lagged. Thanks for one of the best tours ever, Bob!
Terrific experience from start to finish. Hanoian Bao was perfectly versed in the local food scene as well as historic Vietnamese customs/traditions, and all spoken in a way that was both relatable and informative without being preachy. Pickup/dropoff was easy, and his choices were not your typical banh mi or pho. Ask him anything...he really knows everything :)
We had an incredible street food tour with Mai! She didn’t just take us to some of the best local places to eat—she gave us a genuine glimpse into Hanoi beyond the tourist spots. One of the highlights was exploring the hidden alleyways, where Mai shared fascinating insights into how locals live and the history behind the neighbourhoods. It made the experience feel so much more authentic. Every food stop was delicious, and Mai was warm, knowledgeable, and passionate about her city. If you’re visiting Hanoi and want to experience amazing food while learning about the real Hanoi, we couldn’t recommend this tour with Mai more highly.
My evening tour with Mai was the best experiences of my trip to Hanoi. She's kind, clever, funny , and a joy to be around, and within minutes it felt less like a guided tour and more like exploring the city with a friend who happens to know all the best spots. She took me to places I never would have found on my own: Hanoi's tiniest house tucked into the Old Quarter, dessert served in someone's actual sitting room, and a string of dark alleys and obscure corners that felt wonderfully off the beaten path. The food throughout was delicious, dish after dish of things I'd never have known to try. What really set the night apart was that I'd mentioned wanting to see the train pass through Train Street, and Mai went out of her way to make sure we got there in time. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare on a tour like this. I'll be recommending Mai to every friend who visits Hanoi. Highly, highly recommend.
Bob was very professional, fun, and experienced. We had a wonderful time on the food tour with Bob as our guide and a lifetime of memories.
The Food experience and Train Street tour with Bob was absolutely amazing. We visited places that we would not of dreamed of visiting but thanks to Bob we really had a beautiful taste of the local foods in Hanoi. Totally recommend the tour with Bob who was also very informative. 5 stars
