Lì ci fermeremo in una delle sue famose birrerie, come Peters Brauhaus, per provare uno dei tesori di Colonia: la birra Kölsch (da sola, la bevanda non è inclusa). Cammina per gli stretti vicoli e scatta foto delle case colorate e tradizionali. Raggiungi l'Alter Markt, dove nel Medioevo era il luogo delle esecuzioni. Se sei fortunato, potresti avere la possibilità di goderti il mercato settimanale. Procedere verso Heumarkt, dove - in passato - avveniva il commercio di formaggi, carne e sale. È uno degli edifici più tipici dell'era rinascimentale. Accanto al Municipio fermati nella zona archeologica del quartiere ebraico. Scopri la lunga storia degli ebrei che vivono a Colonia e scopri l'asta profonda 17 metri del Mikveh, il bagno rituale ebraico, che è stato scavato nella zona. Ancora oggi, il livello del Reno può essere letto nella parte inferiore del Mikveh. La prossima e ultima tappa sarà la chiesa cattolica romanica di Great Saint Martin. Con la sua fondazione costruita intorno al 960 d.C., ma recentemente restaurata dopo la sua distruzione durante la seconda guerra mondiale, è uno dei punti salienti della Città Vecchia.

The city is centered on the Kölner Dom - the Cologne Cathedral. Sophia was very knowledgeable about the city and history of the cathedral. Her advice on how to tour the inside of the Cathedral was spot on and I would have missed the opportunity to get the most out of my visit. Our discussion was very informative and enjoyable.
Ralph was highly personable and friendly. Customized the tour based on my questions and interests. He not only shared key facts, but did so in a way that "made it real". (e.g. taking me to a specific street corner and sharing photos of the events that unfolded on that very corner in WW2. So IMPACTFUL!) Overall, Ralph was fantastic and I look forward to returning to Cologne and talking with Ralph again! Highly recommend!

Sasha was a fantastic guide! He was very knowledgeable about his history of Cologne and told stories with excitement while personalizing them at the same time. He showed us and taught us things about the city we never would have known just by reading or walking the city on our own. We had a 15 year old daughter with us, and she loved the tour as much as we did. Given the length of the tour, Sasha gave us some choices about what we prioritized seeing and learning. It’s a walking tour and there are cobblestone roads in most areas so would not be appropriate for elderly or handicapped individuals. For all others, however, my family and I highly recommend this tour!
