Una locanda, o Fonda, fu una delle prime attività stabilite nella nuova piazza durante la fondazione di SF. Con l'arrivo della SF Trail nel 1821, la locanda era l'alloggio preferito di cacciatori di pelli, coloni, viaggiatori e politici.
Santa Fe significa “santa fede” e nel 1610 in questo luogo fu costruita la prima chiesa e sostituita da una più grande nel 1630, poi distrutta in seguito alla rivolta dei Pueblo del 1680. Sulle porte della chiesa sono presenti 20 targhe di bronzo che raffigurano il storia di NM dal 1539.
Meravigliosa destinazione di Santa Fe. È uno degli edifici più antichi e autentici di tutta la città.
La cappella è una delle preferite per tour, matrimoni e altre festività. È noto per la sua insolita scala a chiocciola a forma di elica.

La Missione fu edificata tra il 1610 e il 1628, la Chiesa fu parzialmente distrutta durante la Rivolta del 1680 e ricostruita nel 1710 con numerosi restauri nel corso degli anni. All'interno la trave risale al 1710, lo schermo dell'altare e l'area mostrano le parti più antiche e accanto si trova il primo Collegio di San Michele.
L'attuale abitazione poggia su parte delle fondamenta di un antico Pueblo indiano risalente al 1200 d.C. circa. Principalmente la prima abitazione spagnola mostra chiaramente l'architettura originale e le pareti esterne mostrano eccellenti esempi di adobe, la storia delle "Città d'oro".
Dedicata nel 1966, in stile territoriale costruito, la rotonda al centro presenta il Gran Sigillo di Stato di NM e il simbolo del sole Zia. Esplorerai l'arte e l'artigianato in tutto sono di artisti NM, la scultura di Michael Naranjo e la Fiamma Eterna al Bataan Memorial.

Robbie provided a thorough historical focused walking tour of Santa Fe. We enjoyed our tour and appreciate the hospitality and restaurant recommendations!
This walking tour made me realize how unique the heritage of this region is, including the architecture around this place. I also saw a local ceramic artist skillfully paint designs passed down for generations. It was an enjoyable and educative experience, which I enjoyed.
The tour was very informative, just the right amount of time, and helped us learn about the history of Santa Fe, all the famous people, buildings and the art and culture. Our guide Paul shared so many details, great shops to visit and was so accommodating…taking the tour in the snow!
