Guatape, questo comune orientale di Antioquia, situato a un'ora e mezza da Medellin, apre un mondo di colori tra le sue strade, adornato da battiscopa che raccontano storie della città e della sua gente. Lo chiamano anche il mare interno di Antioquia, l'Acapulco della Colombia, l'interno di Cartagena, Paraíso Paisa, Remanso de Paz, il cuore di Antioquia orientale. È stato chiamato in onore di Cacique Guatapé, un abitante di questo territorio nel periodo preispanico. Un altro nome che ha avuto è il Ceja de Guatapé. The Rock of Guatapé o Piedra del Peñol, è un monolite di 220 metri di altezza situato a Guatapé (Antioquia, Colombia). La Pietra di El Peñol, composta da quarzo, feldspato e mica, fu scalata per la prima volta il 16 luglio 1954 da un abitante della zona, Luis Eduardo Villegas López. in compagnia di Ramon Diaz e Pedro Nel Ramírez fino ad ora la pietra appartiene ancora alla famiglia Villegas. Ora puoi accedere alla sua cima salendo 740 gradini costruiti nel monolite.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing experience! Our private tour to Guatapé with Andres was fantastic. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and went above and beyond to make the day special. He truly tailored the experience to us—from his storytelling and local insights to his road-trip playlist and everything in between. It felt much more personal than a typical tour. Andres also speaks excellent English, which I highly recommend for English-speaking travelers. We’ve had experiences where “English-speaking guide” didn’t quite live up to expectations, but Andres was fantastic and communication was effortless. He was incredibly accommodating and made sure we had a fun, memorable day. Highly recommend Andres if you’re looking for a private Guatapé tour from Medellín! 🇨🇴
This was a perfectly organized day trip from Medellin to Guatapé. We had plenty of time to see all the sites without feeling rushed. The real star though was our guide, Hector. He is hands down one of the greatest guides we’ve ever had. He was incredibly thoughtful and went out of his way to make sure our day was extra special. We’re so thankful for the opportunity to meet him and explore Colombia together.

Excellent tour, 100% recommended, we were a total of 8 people in the family, we had a super good time, the tour was excellent, the guides were always attentive and respectful, I would definitely return.

This tour was definitely worth it if you’re interested in spending a day in Guatape as it includes so much. Plan for the weather since except for the drive, the entire day is spent outdoors. We climbed the Peñol rock, which was a bit challenging but worth it for the views from the top and everyone can go at their own pace. It costs extra but only about 30,000 pesos. From there, we visited the colorful town for shopping and snacks, and afterwards we had lunch and enjoyed the boat ride. We felt like we experienced just enough for this trip but would definitely come back again. Nelson was our guide and he was fantastic.

The private tour was top notch. Comfortable sprinter van for the ride. Lunch was delicious. Our tour Guide Arturo was awesome. He gave us very detailed information of guatape and the history. We stopped and did the boat tour of the lake surrounding the big rock. Then went to The rock. It's a hard climb to the top but worth it. Ended rhe tour in the town pf guatape which was full of local culture. I highly recommend this private tour. Was well worth the price which wasn't expensive. No complaints at all
