La nostra prima tappa di degustazione di vini sarà presso la Delaire Graff Wine Estate. Dalla tenuta vinicola Delaire Graff, guideremo per 5 minuti fino alla tenuta vinicola Tokara. Qui degusteremo fino a 4 vini Premium accuratamente selezionati. Tokara è un'azienda vinicola lussuosa e moderna.
Successivamente, guidiamo per 20 minuti fino alla Delheim Wine Estate. Ci godremo un pranzo a portata principale con degustazione di vini premium al Delheim Garden Restaurant con vista sui lussureggianti giardini. Scegli il tuo pasto principale da una selezione di carne, pollame, pesce o opzioni vegetariane. Si prega di notare che solo il piatto principale è incluso nel prezzo del tour solo per gli ospiti che hanno prenotato e pagato l'opzione vino e pranzo e non può superare R275,00 a persona. In caso di chiusura della Delheim Estate per qualsiasi motivo, la degustazione di vini e il pranzo verranno gustati presso la Muratie Wine Estate, una delle più antiche aziende vinicole del paese, che produce vini premiati da oltre 300 anni.
Il tour procede con una sosta di degustazione di vini in una delle più famose destinazioni di degustazione di vini nelle Cape Winelands, nota come Fairview Wine Estate. Qui assaggeremo fino a 6 tipi di vini abbinati a 6 tipi di formaggi accuratamente selezionati, che vanno dalle cultivar rosse e bianche.
Sarà offerta una sosta facoltativa davanti al Drakenstein Correctional Center (ex Prigione di Victor Verster) per scattare una foto con il monumento a Nelson Mandela.

The wine in Stellenbosch is spectacular and the wineries are all very picturesque. On this tour the guide took us to each winery and agreed a pick up time. Everything was clear and well communicated.

This tour did not meet the expectations set by the description of a luxury wine tour. When you book and pay for a wine tour, you expect a knowledgeable guide who can speak intelligently about the wines — varietals, winemaking techniques, terroir, and tasting characteristics. Instead, we received a general history lesson about the region. While history has its place, that is not what we signed up for. We visited three wineries (by choice), and it’s difficult to see how more could reasonably be included. In reality, this felt like hiring a driver for the day rather than participating in a professionally curated wine experience. We could have arranged private transportation ourselves, chosen our own wineries, and likely received better value. The advertised “wine and cheese pairing” was also misrepresented. A true pairing is intentional — specific wines matched with specific cheeses to enhance both. What we received appeared to be a random selection, with no explanation or thoughtful curation. Given the cost, we expected expertise, structure, and authenticity. What was delivered did not justify the premium price. The only thing luxury about it was how much it cost. Also, I don’t blame the driver I blame the person profiting from this hack of a tour.

However, the value of a luxury experience must come from expertise, structure, and intentional curation — not simply logistics. If that depth and structure were not delivered, we take that concern seriously. We also appreciate your comments about the wine and cheese pairing. A true pairing should be deliberate and clearly explained, highlighting how specific wines and cheeses complement one another. If what was presented lacked intention or explanation, that falls short of the standard we aim to uphold. We regret that the experience did not justify the premium price in your view. The tour guide Gordon was on time, very knowledgeable and responsive to our needs. The wine facilities visited were a good choice with a wide variety of products, and the personnel were all extremely knowledgeable of their wines. We had a great day trying 20 wines in 4 different vineyards, with time to wander around Stellenbosch and a lunch stop in Franschhoek. Superb views and Morne our tour guide was very knowledgeable. Would certainly recommend if you want to dip into the local wines and have someone else drive!
