Questo tour è perfetto per trascorrere una giornata divertente con una visione d'insieme della regione vinicola dello Champagne, incentrata su Reims ed Épernay, con graziosi villaggi nel mezzo. Prima un tour della città di Reims, sede di Veuve Clicquot, Mümm e Taittinger. Quindi ci fermiamo alla cattedrale gotica di Notre-Dame di Reims, dove furono incoronati molti re di Francia. Seguito dal tour della cantina e degustazione di due bicchieri di Champagne Pommery, 6a casa più grande, all'interno di miniere romane di 2000 anni. Partenza per i vigneti per vedere le bellezze della valle del fiume Marna, visita alla tomba di Dom Perignon a Hautvillers. Pausa pranzo a Épernay (con suggerimenti), dove si può passeggiare lungo la meravigliosa Avenue de Champagne. Termina con una visita presso un produttore di champagne boutique per scoprire come viene prodotto lo champagne, con un assaggio di 3 bicchieri di champagne. Tour della cantina e degustazione a Pommery a Reims. Questa famosa Champagne House è la sesta più grande in assoluto e si trova in cima alla collina di Saint Nicaise, che è un sito UNESCO a causa delle miniere di gesso romane che ora vengono utilizzate per invecchiare le bottiglie di champagne. Questo marchio è diventato una delle più grandi maison grazie al lavoro visionario di Jeanne Pommery, la vedova del fondatore. Usando l'esempio di Veuve Clicquot, ha dimostrato che le donne possono essere brave quanto qualsiasi capitane d'industria e ha costruito l'impressionante dominio che vedi oggi. Questa chiesa cattolica del XIII secolo è un capolavoro dell'architettura gotica, con migliaia di intricate sculture e meravigliose vetrate colorate. In questo sito nel 496, Clodoveo, primo re di Francia, fu battezzato da Saint-Remi, vescovo di Reims, cosa che fece incoronare nello stesso luogo più di 30 re di Francia.
Attraversiamo l'affascinante Champagne Avenue di Épernay, dove si susseguono famose case di champagne: Moêt & Chandon, Perrier-Jouët, Pol Roger, Mercier, De Castellane e altre ancora.
Visita guidata della città di Reims, la città più grande della Champagne, con le sue piazze principali, le rovine romane, i monumenti medievali e le Champagne Houses. Vedremo l'arco romano più ampio del mondo, la piazza Luigi XV, il mercato coperto, il Museo della Resa dove firmarono i nazisti e molte prestigiose Maison di Champagne: Roëderer, Krug, Mümm, Veuve-Clicquot, Taittinger, Pommery... La città fu pesantemente bombardata durante la prima guerra mondiale, che costrinse la città a ricostruire negli anni '20, trasformando Reims nella capitale Art Déco della Francia.
Hautvillers - la culla dei vini dello Champagne Incantevole villaggio in cima alla Valle della Marna, con vista sul fiume, Épernay e sui vigneti. Ci fermeremo per la magnifica vista e poi visiteremo la chiesa dove visse e morì Dom Pérignon, il famoso amministratore del monastero locale. Dopo aver visto la sua tomba e aver parlato della sua eredità, attraverseremo il villaggio e daremo la caccia alle dozzine di segni dall'aspetto medievale che adornano le case di questo sito UNESCO.
Tour della Cantina e Degustazione di un piccolo produttore di vini Champagne. Ci sono migliaia di piccoli produttori di champagne nei piccoli villaggi, alcuni dei quali producono vini di alta qualità con un buon rapporto qualità/prezzo. Visiterai uno selezionato, esaminando il loro processo, le macchine, la cantina e alla fine assaggerai parte della loro gamma.

Raphael was an amazing host. There was only two of us as we could not change the date for the tour. He still picked us up and took of through the whole itinerary as planned. It was a phenomenal! He was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of history about each stop. The vineyard we stopped at was absolutely gorgeous. Getting to tour Notre Dame of Reims as well as the Abby where Dom Perignon lived was an added bonus. This was so much more than just a champagne tour!

Wow, what an experience. Raphael was our small group tour guide. There was 4 of us total and it was special. We did the tour in English. We started our tour at the Cathedral Notre Dame of Reims. A stunning 1600 year old cathedral. Raphael provided an excellent historical tour inside and out. We then began our journey through Reims with incredible history en route to our destinations in Eperney. The history, stories, vineyards, the chalk caves, countryside views and champagne houses we visited were exceptional. On our 90 minute lunch break we stopped in a local brasserie for fresh baguette and we had enough time to walk some of the Boulevard of Champagne’s to squeeze in a couple of extra tastings on our own. An exceptional trip with an exceptional guide. Thank you Raphael for a great day out and memories we will cherish forever.

In our two week trip this is by far the best tour we took. Raphael was so personable and fun, we didn’t want the day to end. He is incredibly knowledgeable about wine and the history of the region, it was so wonderful. An absolute must if you’re in Reims!

It was a wonderful experience. Raphael provides so complete explanations. You feel like an expert in all stops. I was not expecting much from the cathedal stop, but it was actually one of my favorites. So much history anchored to that church. Pommery was nice to visit, though I did not like their champaign much. It was nice to visity the family bussiness, but I felt that would be nice to visit one more large champaign company. My last suggestion is to walk the Champaign stree (not just drive through it, with time to stop where the group feels like exploring a little. Loved every part of the tour.

Regarding the other suggestions, the Champagne Avenue can be walked during the free lunch time when you can also explore Moët et CHandon boutique, otherwise we don't have time later for the small champagne house.
