Cannot say enough about this trip. It was our first time on a multi-day guided tour. We typically rent a car or just navigate ourselves.At first, my 15 and 17 year-old kids, were apprehensive about a tour. By the second day, they were happy and by the third day they were in love. This trip taught us about the beautiful history and landscape of Iceland, but also about community and friendship. John, our tour guide, was upbeat, caring, smart. Infectious energy, awesome playlist, and unmatched driving skills. He was incredibly knowledgeable of the country of Iceland. We were super lucky. He took us to his special places which are now my children’s favorites. I can’t think him enough! We love John and Iceland! This was our best travel experience as a family. Every other travel experience we end up fight about something or another, but this was all handled perfectly for us and we got to simply chill & enjoy it with really good people.

We just returned from an incredible 6-day tour around Iceland with Troll and I can’t recommend this experience highly enough. Before booking, I spent a lot of time researching different tours and reading countless reviews, including some negative ones about this company but our experience was nothing short of amazing! We traveled as a family with our young son, and the trip was fantastic for all of us. The itinerary was well planned, the accommodations were comfortable, the food was delicious and every day brought another unforgettable experience. The biggest reason this tour stood out was our guide, John. He went above and beyond every single day to make sure everyone was comfortable, informed, and having a great time. As a geographer, his knowledge of Iceland’s geology, history, landscapes, and culture added so much depth to every stop. His passion for Iceland was contagious and truly elevated the entire trip. Thank you John for making our Iceland adventure so special! A special shout-out also goes to our glacier guide, Edgar. He was very knowledgeable, engaging, and made the glacier hike both safe and unforgettable.

I had such a wonderful experience with John as my tour guide in Iceland. He was incredibly hospitable from start to finish, always making sure everyone felt comfortable and taken care of. He shared everything in great detail — not just facts, but stories, insights, and little things you’d never find in a guidebook. I did a 6 day summer rong road tour with Troll.is from June 10 — 15. We were fortunate to have Hafþór⁩ as our tour guide who was very knowledgeable about the geology, history as well as folklore of Iceland and seemed to really enjoy his job. Taking advantage of the excellent weather and 24 hours daylight, he took us to many additional spots that were not on the itinerary which we enjoyed a lot. In my opinion, the visit to the dummy Viking village was somewhat of a tourist trap but not a very expensive one fortunately. The hotels rooms we stayed at each night ranged from being ery compact to large and spacious, but since we were there just for the nights, even the basic hotels with limited amenities did not cause much of an inconvenience. The hikes to the Katla ice cave and Falljökul glacier were fun and well conducted. Overall, I had a great time and saw everything for which I visited Iceland.

I rarely write those reviews, but this one is certainly worth it! We had an incredible time in Iceland, it feels like an island from another planet. Through this tour we have managed to see 6 or 7 waterfalls (including walking behind the waterfall), geysers, black sand beach, a huge crater, an ice cave, puffins, seals, whales, and honestly I can go on. One thing that made this trip very special was our host Jakub, who went above and beyond to make our trip memorable, cater to everyone's needs. He was also very knowledgeable around hidden spots that were not even part of the itinerary. Certainly one of the most memorable trips of my life, trying to think of something negative to balance the review, but can't think of anything, even the weather was amazing. I would highly recommend this tour and agency to anyone, if we decide to do a winter tour in the future, we know where to look for.

Thanks to Troll, I was lucky to be guided by a professional geographer, John🧑‍🏫. He introduced all the special landscapes in Iceland in a lively way, allowing us to see, to experience Iceland through his eyes👀. He is always energetic and passionate about his jobs, willing to share, and to help. Make sure his guests get entertained😂, e.g. via playing music🎶 from where the guests come from, sharing his playlist with us. Moreover, John always put himself in someone's shoes🤗, e.g. to drop us as close as possible to the tourist spots, so that we don't have to walk for long. Besides, John is punctual and nice, having smiles on his face. As a guest, I can feel his love for his job totally❤️‍🔥. With John, you are able to remember the places, food and activities that you had experienced for the past few days and in the coming days. Not just sleeping on the bus and peeing off the bus. He always worried if he had spoken too much, no, your speech🎙 was just right and interesting. I wish John was my school teacher so I could enjoy learning and remember the important points easily. He would be a good teacher to help you get high marks in exams! 🤣🤣🤣 For people who are not speaking english, no worry, John speaks clearly with simple words. His accent is easy to understand. An uncle who could not speak or read english in our tour could understand simply via translate app on phones. John brought us to his secret places and extra stops where you can see splendid views. I'm not going to tell you where, you have to visit yourselves😜 Hope Troll will let more tourists from all around the world to see Iceland via John's eyes🤗. I'm afraid that Troll will have requests for designating John to lead the team in the future🤭🙊. If you are looking for a guide who is, - Professional - Considerate - Willing to share, to help - Allow you to learn, not just sightseeing - Easy to understand John is the guy💯! ----- For those who are still comparing which company or tour to join, as an Asian, I had done a lot of researches and comparison, I can tell you, with a similar amount of money, this tour includes whale watching🐋, seeing the blue waterfall (Brúarfoss, not much tour will bring to this stop!!), glacier hike🏔, ice cave tour and the blue church⛪️ with rainbow road🌈 (Seyðisfjörður, not much tour will bring to this stop!! Great news for who are not driving, follow Troll and you don't have to take 45mins flight from Reykjavík to here!). After having all the good comments, one small suggestion here💡, it would be a bonus if this tour could add places to see puffins, though I know it's far and takes a long time to go🥲. The Troll Tour is great. Incredibly beautiful trip. Super organized. A really great small group. The incredibly friendly and kind guide Jakub took excellent care of us. He is a very good driver. He told us a lot about the country and its people, which he loves very much. The included or additional activities were unique and indescribable.

It was one of my best trips. Iceland is gorgeous and we had an excellent tour guide named Johann. I was with family and friends consisting of 9 women from Kentucky. Troll is an excellent tour company and Johann is the best!
