A special guided tour of the staircases of Genoa - car-free but not mountain bike-free 🤪- there is even a bicycle race!!! With lift to Casteletto and Righi cable car, two special lookouts are easily reached. In three picturesque places, Alessandro tells stories in self-written songs with guitar accompaniment that -perhaps - took place in this way.
Great combination of city views and stories of city life. Enjoyed the walks down the cruises and seeing the small gardens. Alexander is a great story teller and pleasant person to be around. Highly recommended!
Alessandro was a good tour guide. At first, I thought, he was too casual and not very engaging but as the day went on, I took my initial impressions back. This tour is not for the faint of heart of those that cannot walk well or have some impairments or disabilities. There is a ton of walking up and down and in areas of instability. Alessandro took us to so many places off the beaten path we loved it! He also sang a few original songs he wrote that were wonderful and really personal. We left Genoa with a different impression than we originally anticipated.
Our guide was very knowledgeable. He made us discover Genoa’s history and geography. We had not realized how much we would walk uphill. Despite that we enjoyed our tour very much.
We thoroughly enjoyed our three hour walking tour of the "creuze," the old hilly passways, back alleys that are found in Genova. Our guide, Alessandro, was excellent. Using both stories and original songs, he gave us a clear historical overview of the city as well as details about its distinctive economic and cultural character We highly recommend this very different way of seeing Genova.
Lovely city with great food and sites. The Maritime & Migration Museums are amazing, the Metro lifts very interesting to see the city, harbours and sea with great views. Do not book the Free Walking Tour as they did not show up. 🙁 Very hot in August- May or September would be cooler.
We had such a fun time with Alessandro on the tour of Genoa! There are so many interesting tidbits about the city and its history. Alessandro kept the tour at a manageable pace (especially with the heat) and was very kind. His stories put to music were especially fun as well! I’d recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn about Genoa from a local.
everything nice starting to walk along via xx di settembre to piazza de Ferrari and then entering the historic center passing by C.Colon's house. A wonder of a city
It’s like going behind the scenes in Genoa because you are not in the “tourist” area. You go up and down old neighborhoods in the hills - so you see buildings with histories and learn how the neighborhoods changed over time and why. The funicular replaces walking the steepest hills. In May the flowers were blooming everywhere and the weather was perfect for sitting and listening to the stories sung by our guide.
Alessandro is an exceptional guide. We have taken two tours with him: one through the crosses of the historic center and another through the upper part of Genoa. He has shown us the essentials of this wonderful city and also a detailed expansion enlivened with his sung romances. Absolutely recommended. Do not miss it.
