After waiting for 10 minutes after the expected start time, another guide came and offered to take us on the tour for free since the one we booked never showed up. This other guide was great but i was definitely disappointed we didn’t get the night vision or the snack like was advertised.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re truly sorry that your experience didn’t go as expected. We always arrive at the designated meeting point before the tour begins and wait for our guests. Since we were there that evening, it’s possible there was a misunderstanding with the meeting location and that you may have gone to a different spot. We’re glad another guide was able to take you on a night walk, although we’re sorry you missed the experience you had booked with us, including the night vision equipment and the homemade snack that are part of our tour. If this was indeed a meeting point mix-up, we wish we had been contacted that evening so we could have helped you find us right away. We hope you’ll give us another opportunity in the future to show you the full experience we strive to provide.
A highlight of our trip! This tour was fascinating, and our tour guide George Jr was wonderful. He was able to find so many different species and he shared so much knowledge with us. His passion was evident and it made the tour so enjoyable!

George was a fantastic guide. It was an indescribable tour and he was able to show us many animals. You can tell he enjoys his work, and it is great when he tells stories about how crazy nature is.

Amazing experience, cannot recommend enough. Vinnie was a brilliant guide, very knowledgeable and absolutely incredible at spotting wildlife in the dark, far away. He uses a viewer (like binoculars) on a tripod for you to get a perfect view of the animal, and take great photos. He also sometimes uses a UV light to show up things not easily seen by the naked eye. The whole family enjoyed it, so nice to know what secrets the rain forrest holds. Easy to book, good communication

Very good experience. We were fortunate to be guided by Víctor and he truly maintained enthusiasm and motivation throughout the entire tour, he made the greatest effort to find animals and plants to see, he helped us take impressive photos and truly provided an excellent experience.

So grateful for an incredible evening with Vinny! I don’t know how he was able to move around in the dark looking up, but he found us a sleeping toucans, viper, kinkajous, a sleeping howler monkey, and he was even more excited to find the sloth than we were! Never really used the night vision goggles, but we didn’t need to, and the night was perfect!

Wow wow and wow!, we booked the 8pm night hike and our guide Vini was incredible, a very friendly chap who literally leaves no stone unturned and his eyesight/ability to spot the tiniest of details leading us to some of the best wildlife encounters of our lives. When we arrived, Vini explained to us how it’s best to go into these tours with low expectations and let the forest show you what it would like to show you which we thought was not only a fantastic way of looking at it, but it also worked very much in our favour when we hadn’t even left camp and eagle eyed Vini spotted an eyelash pit viper. From there it just got better and we were super lucky to see a mottled owl, a mexican hairy porcupine, a sloth (with a baby!), webfoot salamanders, tree frogs, glass frog eggs, funky stick insects, pit vipers and more! We appreciate we were incredibly lucky and the forest was giving a lot last night but I don’t think you’d ever find nothing with Vini & co as your guides. Highly recommend and if we can, will be back- also compliments to grandma for her homemade energy bars. Buena Vista, Vini! 🫶

This night tour was the highlight of our trip so far! At first, we had issues finding transportation to the wildlife refuge, but when we called George he immediately came to pick us up! George was very sweet and told us all about his life and Monteverde during the drive. Vini was our guide and we could not have asked for a better one! He absolutely loves his job and worked hard to find every single animal. I genuinely don’t know how he spotted some of the snakes and bugs we saw! He also used our phone to take the coolest pictures and videos through the telescope of every animal! After the tour was done he drove us back to our hostel and was passionately telling us everything about the area. This experience was amazing and Vini and George are the sweetest and most passionate people. Will be dreaming about this tour forever!
