We met a family at a cooking class in Tokyo and asked where they had been and what they enjoyed most. They had just come from Kyoto and raved about this e-bike tour they had taken and highly recommended so we decided to give it a try. So glad we did!! Sean was our tour guide and he was a terrific guide from a few perspectives: 1) Spoke really good English 2) Extremely knowledgeable of the culture and the sites we visited 3) Very cognizant of the groups safety while navigating the winding streets. This tour is as the name would suggest…visiting cultural sites using e-bikes on back roads and trails. The bikes were fairly new, performed very well and Sean kept things at a manageable pace for a group of 6. It was just over 4 hours and Sean gave interesting tidbits throughout the tour regarding neighborhoods and various establishments. Top Question: Would I recommend: Yes…in fact we are sending our sons on the same tour when they visit.
EXCELLENT! Really interesting and informative tour with an English speaking local. He managed the group extremely well, keeping everyone involved and engaged.
Our guide Micheal GREAT. Friendly, knowledgable, cares!!! E Bike = great. Clean, newish, ran smooth, fun. 4 stars because claim "Golden Pavillion" on the listing I signed up with and did not go. I went via taxi afterwards.
We discovered some very hidden gems of Kyoto on this fun and interesting tour. The neighborhoods, temples and shrines we visited were quiet and peaceful - the perfect way to see a little of the real Kyoto away from the crowds. Yuta was an exceptional guide. So friendly and knowledgeable. He told interesting stories about the culture, history and places we visited, and shared a little about himself too. We were lucky and grateful to have Yuta as our guide. Thanks Yuta 🙏
Thank you so much for this! Yuta has a real passion for sharing the city he loves and we're glad that came through so strongly on the day. He'll be really happy to read this. Hope to see you back in Kyoto someday.
It was a wonderful tour. Since the weather was very hot that day, our guide spontaneously updated the tour a bit and we had an extra break at a cool mountain stream. We saw places in Kyoto that we would never have found on our own. Our guide explained everything well to us and also gave us tips for further days in Kyoto. He was very polite and very concerned about our well-being. At the end, we all did a short Zen meditation together. A great conclusion. Thanks for the great experience.
reply to review This was a great trip for us. We did the most heavily visited places also. However, the bike tour was none of this, whic Tripadvisor review: Hidden Kyoto E-Biking tour The tour included areas where the local tourist does not usually go. This made it more special for us. We had not none of this on our itinerary for the most common places that people go to.748quintonl Great bike tour with Sean Tripadvisor review: Hidden Kyoto E-Biking tour Tour was fantastic! The Noru Team
An intelligent Japanese guide, Yuta, made this small tour, just 5 cyclists, very interesting.
Thank you for this! Yuta will be really happy to hear it. Hope to see you back in Kyoto someday.
Directions to meet point were accurate. We had to take train and bus (35 min travel to) then opted to walk more and train return (40 min). We had Henry for our guide and he was excellent. Great historian and brought us to sites not often seen by tourists. No crowds. Bikes were easy to use and routes felt safe even with the opposite traffic directions (we are from USA). There were hills but we had time to take slower/caution as needed. Tour lasted about 4 hours with several great stops. Our teenagers loved it. Have some great photos but also don't want to spoil the surprises for you!
Thank you so much for this! Henry has a real depth of knowledge and a great eye for the spots most visitors never find, and it sounds like the whole group had a wonderful time. We love that you're keeping the surprises under wraps too. He'll be really happy to read this. Hope to see you all back in Kyoto someday.
Shaun was great! What An amazing time! The bikes were a lot of fun! The knowledge we gained and the beautiful temples and gardens were wonderful!
Thank you so much for this, and congratulations on your honeymoon! Sean will be really happy to hear it. Sounds like a wonderful way to spend a day in Kyoto. Hope to see you both back someday.
This was the highlight of our Kyoto trip. Our guide, Yuta, was amazing and showed us unique, hidden spots where we were often the only people there. Highly recommend!!!
Thank you so much for this! Being the only ones at a hidden spot in Kyoto is a rare thing and we're glad Yuta was able to make that happen. He'll be really happy to read this. Hope to see you back someday.
This was an amazing tour!! Yuta was our guide. His English is amazing and he is very well-informed about history. He took us to undiscovered, hidden spots that were a breath of fresh air in busy, touristy Kyoto. It was a really warm and we went to a stream in the mountains to cool off our feet. Riding the e-bikes was really fun too!
Thank you so much for this! A mountain stream to cool off on a warm day sounds like a perfect moment, and that's exactly the kind of spontaneous touch that makes Yuta such a great guide. He'll be really happy to read this. Hope to see you back in Kyoto someday.
