Dal regno dei miti ai motivi della ragione. Il sorprendente viaggio dell'Antica Grecia dalla fede cieca alla ricerca di spiegazioni per tutte le cose sconosciute! Non si tratta del solito tour "turistico" ma piuttosto di una passeggiata filosofica, tra gli antichi monumenti che forniscono il miglior scenario per vedere d'insieme questa sorprendente trasformazione. I filosofi presocratici ci hanno dato quella che può essere considerata come l’unica vera “scoperta” della scienza: che il nostro mondo può essere compreso attraverso leggi naturali la cui identificazione potrebbe consentire agli esseri umani di comprendere ciò che li circonda, e anche se stessi... Esploriamo insieme questo affascinante cambiamento nella percezione umana e scopriamo a che punto siamo oggi!

Questo luogo era il cuore della città di Atene. Filosofi come Socrate, Platone, politici come Solone, Temistocle, Pericle, Tucidide, Sofocle, Aristofanis, che costituivano il "Dream Team" di Atene, eminenti ateniesi e semplici cittadini hanno camminato qui e hanno avuto discussioni e dibattiti per tutte le questioni.
Faremo una facile passeggiata attraverso il colorato mercato delle pulci di Atene con molti negozi di antiquariato e turistici.
La Biblioteca di Adriano fu creata dall'imperatore romano Adriano nel 132 d.C. sul lato nord dell'Acropoli di Atene e all'epoca era la seconda più grande del mondo.
L'Agorà romana di Atene si trova a nord dell'Acropoli e ad est dell'Antica Agorà.
L'edificio ottagonale chiamato Torre dei Venti fu realizzato dall'astronomo Andronico di Kyrristos, nel I secolo a.C. e fungeva sia da indicatore del vento ma anche da orologio, quindi era il “Big Ben” di Atene e anche la stazione meteorologica di la città. L'orologio era solare ma nelle giornate nuvolose c'era anche un meccanismo idraulico che produceva un suono ogni ora! È considerata la prima stazione meteo.
Plaka è un pittoresco quartiere di Atene con piccole case e pittoresche stradine.
Pnyx Hill è stato il primo parlamento del mondo. Questo posto offre una splendida vista sulla zona ed è un ottimo posto per ammirare il tramonto. È anche gratuito, proprio come le cose migliori della vita.
Philoppapos Hill (o Hill of the Muses) offre i migliori panorami di Acropoli e Atene di notte.

Bery ingormational, interesting and educational tour given by a very knowledgeable and good speaker. Panos have a good tour with much information about the politics and democracy of ancient Greece, along with philosophies and myths of the ancient Greeks and how these philosophical thinkers affected modern thinking.

Panos was simply amazing. He was engaging and gave some fascinating insights into Athens history and brought the sites alive with stories throughout the 4 hour tour. Lovely guide who catered for the individual needs of those within the group

Very detailed tour covering Ancient Greece and the philosophers and historical people who created the principles of a democratic state. The walk included going up hill over looking Athens. The views were dramatic, especially the evening we went when there was a rainbow. The professor was a little long winded, but in general we really appreciated his knowledge and learned a lot.
We did the tour two days ago and it was the highlight of our trip! Panos was truly excellent. He injected so much fun and humour into the tour; we loved every second. We learned so much and have bookmarked his website for further reading when we get home. The tour covered the history of Athens and how philosophy, democracy and mythology shaped and continue to influence both ancient Athens and the modern world. Panos was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging throughout. We particularly loved the demonstration of Pythagoras’ cup - so much so that we bought one as a souvenir the next day! We saw so many hidden gems of Athens that we would’ve otherwise missed, such as the prison ruins where Socrates was executed and the ancient cemetery. This tour is a wonderful way to explore the city and its extensive, beautiful, complicated culture. Thank you Panos!
