La laguna di Ria Formosa, situata in Algarve, nel sud del Portogallo, è un sistema di isole barriera che comunica con il mare attraverso sei insenature. Cinque di questi ingressi sono naturali e presentano caratteristiche di mobilità. Il sesto è un ingresso artificiale che è stato aperto allo scopo di consentire un più facile accesso al porto di Faro. All'interno del sistema Ria Formosa, si possono trovare usi diversi e talvolta antagonistici. Parte del sistema è un parco naturale ma anche Ria Formosa svolge un ruolo importante nell'economia della regione. Oltre all'uso turistico, il sistema supporta anche altre attività economiche come allevamenti ittici (compresa la raccolta di gusci di tappeti scanalati) e il porto di Faro. Ria Formosa è anche un parco naturale designato di oltre 170 km² e un luogo di sosta per centinaia di uccelli diversi durante i periodi migratori primaverili e autunnali.
Ilha do Farol è una delle isole barriera che formano la Ria Formosa. Quest'isola che un tempo era un villaggio di pescatori, oggi è un piccolo luogo turistico dove si possono trovare un paio di bar e ristoranti per bere qualcosa o un pasto completo.
L'isola di Culatra è un'isola barriera situata nella Ria Formosa nella regione dell'Algarve in Portogallo. Ha una popolazione approssimativa di circa 700 persone divise nelle tre comunità di Farol, Hângares e Culatra.

This tour (and our guide, Bruno) could not have been more fun, interesting, and generous. We saw gorgeous islands, and learned about the marine life, habitat, fishing and marine history of Faro. And it's just so much fun to be out on the water! The boat trip with Bruno was a highlight of our visit to Faro.
The guide was soo nice. We really enjoyed the trip.

2 h Speedboot super tour, great explanation and the FunFact was huge, immediately again. We headed to the islands could see the birds and enjoyed the spray on our faces. We also have some great souvenir photos.

An absolutely lovely 1 hour trip which was great fun. João our young captain was excellent and informative too. The guys in the office, Bruno and Maria are very nice and happy. We were 8 friends and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I recommend this company wholeheartedly 👌👍

We had a wonderful experience with our guide Daniella. She was attentive, told us quite a few interesting things about local marine life and life on the nearby islands. I highly recommend this company.
