Tour provider cancelled at the last minute with no reason or notice. Don’t waste your time or ruin your plans with this loser.
Volcanoes are certainly something to see and the lava bombs craters and fields are interesting. However choose another company this one did not follow the itinerary as published in the tour ad additionally they charged me in my partner three times what others on the same tour were charged. It's not that we saw nothing, it's just that we did not see anything listed in the ad by name.
We sadly didn’t get to experience this because nobody came to pick us up. And there was not a phone number that we could find to call them. Finally heard back and there was some kind of mix up. We rushed all morning to be ready and it was disappointing. Accidents happen we do understand that.
Thank you for sharing your experience, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you faced. For certain tours and transfers, we collaborate with trusted partners to provide the best service possible. In this case, the mix-up occurred on their side, which is very rare, as our own drivers are known for their punctuality and attentiveness. We truly regret that this affected your experience and appreciate your understanding. We always strive to ensure smooth and enjoyable trips for all our guests, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again and provide a flawless experience.
Its awesome, you’ll hear the Volcano take lots of pictures and wear shoes you don’t care if they get dirty.
Thank you for your great tips! Hearing the volcano truly makes the experience unforgettable. And yes, wearing shoes you don’t mind getting dirty is definitely a smart choice. We appreciate your feedback!
This is a must do!! It is a very scenic drive. The volcano is beautiful. Lots of great photo opportunities. Honestly, our driver, Sal, was THE BEST, part of our tour. He was so informative and he kept us laughing. I HIGHLY recommend this trip…and SAL!!!!!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed the scenic drive and the stunning views of the volcano. We’re glad our guide made your tour both informative and fun. We hope to welcome you again soon for another great experience!
Seeing Mount Etna from multiple places in all its glory and learning about the volcanic history was insightful. Getting so close to all that lava was amazing
Being in the midst of the craters and seeing the large lava rocks that had been thrown from the volcano when it erupted was amazing. Worth making a note that we were not in a Jeep. We were in a van. The main picture on Viator is not correct. Luca our guide was wonderful, very helpful, knowledgeable and fun! He was a delight. The one thing we missed in preparation was for the hiking part of the trip. Make sure to bring proper hiking shoes and be prepared for rain and cold depending on the day.
Luca our guide was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable and made our day on Mt. Etna special. We hiked thru Lava Tubes and over many Craters and learned about the fauna.
We believed we signed up for a private tour, but there were 4 others squeezed into a small car. We were never told there was a 1 hour hike. We were not advised to carry water. At the end of the tour we were not immediately taken to our hotel, but on an hour-long trip to drop off the 4 other participants at a vineyard.
Dear David, Thank you for your feedback. Indeed we believe that this is not appropriate review as you never booked a private tour but a collective one, as it is clearly indicate in the offer you booked online and in no part of the offer is indicated that the tour will be private. Please check on the offer online that you see before you book and pay for: https://www.viator.com/tours/Taormina/Half-or-Full-Day-Etna-Jeep-Tour-including-lunch-in-a-farmhouse/d4237-7736P12. You cannot expect to have a private service if you book and pay for a collective one. Furthermore, in the offer, it is clearly specified that the jeep can host up to 5 people and that during the tour there will be walking and trekking stops. Of course if you are going to experience a tour to the Etna it is up to you to bring water with you, but of course in case you will need water during the tour you can ask to the guide to ask and buy water. Finally, having booked a collective tour, it is clear that there will be different drop off point according also the other participant on the jeep. So please reconsider your feedback as we provided the tour to you as you exactly booked online and as it is described online. In case you should have some doubts before booking, you should contact our customer service and we would be more than glad to give you more details and solve some of your doubts so you can avoid such misunderstanding.
The tour did not happen as apparently the jeep broke down that morning. It was about 75 minutes after the scheduled pick up that we were notified that the tour could not take place. The alternative dates offered were of no use to us as we were on our penultimate day on holiday.
