This was the highlight of our trip to Italy. A perfect combination of visiting a beautiful part of the Tuscan countryside (non touristy), visiting a family vineyard and a saffron farm while enjoying a cycle.
Simone was very professional and personable. We took an hour train ride for under 6 Euro each and Simone met us at the train station. We were set up with great equipment and had a great time even in the rain. Simone had a rain jacket for me. We had a nice stop ay the saffrom farm where we petted a Vietnamese pot belly pig Pepo, a horse, bees and rabbits We took a quick trip onto the charming town of Vecchio and Simone pointed out a great restaurant in town that we had a delicious meal. He even followed up with us after the tour to suggest a place where my husband can rent a bike. We will be booking future tours with him. If you want to take a quick trip and have fun riding in the country, book this. He's a real gentleman too. When I got tired he helped me take the bike up the hill. Thanks for a great experience Simone!
Simone was a great tour guide. The bike tour was more than I expected in a good way. It was a ride all throughout the small, beautiful countryside outside of the busy city of Florence. The views were great and the snacks were perfect.
Great day, great experience, great guide! Easy to reach from Florence by train, many information about history and farming, top equipment. Simone is really friendly and super enthusiastic. He cleary loves what he does and is incredibily knoledgeable obout the area. Fantastic trip to try amazin local food. I did not know nothing about saffron and Simone was helpful and fun with trying the saffron flavored products and learning about them. Would highly recommend this trip to anyone wanting to see the countryside around Florence.
We took this tour in January and even then, the surroundings were lush and beautiful. I can imagine how much prettier it would be with the yellow flowers covering the hills like it does in spring. Our tour guide Simone was very polite and knowledgeable about the area. The bike ride was fairly easy even us for us inexperienced riders. My kids particularly enjoyed the visit to the farm when they saw horses, cats, a pig, bunnies, and a turkey. The saffron tasting was interesting as I did not know much about it prior to the tour. I would highly recommend this to anyone staying in Florence for a chance to do something off the beaten path.
