Tour in bicicletta degli acquedotti della Via Appia (Catacombe e opzione pranzo)

We booked the ebike tour out to the catacombs, along the Appian Way and past the old aqueducts, and it was a real highlight of our trip. Rather than trudging round the busy centre in the midday heat, you get to see a completely different, quieter side of Rome’s history. Our guide Alex was fantastic: really knowledgeable, full of stories, and clearly loved the job. It was the middle of July and properly hot, but Alex kept a good pace and stopped regularly in the shade so we could all cool down and catch our breath. One small tip: the saddles take some getting used to after a couple of hours, so a padded pair of shorts would help if you have them. That aside, we’d highly recommend Roma Starbike, and Alex especially, to anyone wanting an active, memorable way Rome.

This was the perfect way to explore Rome! If you want to avoid some crowds, and see some amazing historical sites, this is the perfect tour! Thanks to the E-bike assist, the biking can be very casual or strenuous, depending on what you would like. Our guide, Alex, was very knowledgeable , entertaining, and helpful. We felt comfortable and interested the entire time by the stories Alex told and the amazing views. Also, don’t be worried about the heat. Alex gave us lots of water breaks, kept us in the shade as much as possible, and the cool breeze while biking was amazing. (We did this tour on a 95 degree day and had no struggles!) Seriously, this tour offers a different perspective of Rome that you won’t see by yourself!

This tour was one of the best experiences we had in Rome. My husband and I traveled with our adult children. Alex was our guide and was very informative and made the experience fun. He told many stories about the aqueducts, the Appian way and other important pieces of history in Rome. The catacombs and lunch was definitely worth it. It was so nice to see these places and much cooler on the bikes than walking around since it was very hot. Plenty of stops for water and rest. This is truly an experience you should not miss.

This was a wonderful morning and exceeded our expectations. We saw everything we had hoped to see, and getting out of the city was such a refreshing change of pace. The route was beautiful and thoughtfully planned, allowing us to experience so much in just a few hours. Our tour guide was engaging, knowledgeable, and made the history come alive. The lunch was simple but delicious and was the perfect way for a break and to meet our fellow travelers. Even with the intense heat, the experience was thoroughly enjoyable. The e-bikes were comfortable, easy to ride, and made covering the distance effortless. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a unique way to experience the area.

Great group experience and Salah was a terrific guide! As they say “All roads lead to Rome” The history of the aqueducts and Appian Way is amazing!

We appreciate seeing some of the spaces that are not on everyone' to do list or to experience them in a different way. Considered doing an independent bike ride or walk, but feel having a guide is value added to understand and explain what you are seeing. Thoroughly enjoyed this ride from near the Colosseum to San Callisto to Appian Way and Aqueducts before finding our way back to our starting point. Little saddle sore from the ride, but found the tour very rewarding. Two thumbs up!

Had a great time. E-bikes were easy to handle. Great way to get out of the city and enjoyed the length of the trip. However there was another girl in our group whose bike was misbehaving and she had a more frustrating experience. Also, don’t count on the food in the ‘Apertif’ option. Most people in the tour didn’t eat it, it was like a mushroom sandwich and peanuts and a pair of rolls with meat. Also we went on Wednesday afternoon and traffic was sketchy tight in a few places lol. The guide knew what he was doing tho!

Trip was beautiful. Guide Emanuel was well informed and provided great highlights. There were plenty of breaks for water and rest on hot day.

This was one of the highlights of our whole trip!! Alex was really fun and had some great historical stories! It was a long day but lunch halfway through was very tasty! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone traveling to Rome!

We really enjoyed the experience. The bikes were easy to use and allowed us to really explore the Appian Way and nearby parks. We especially enjoyed the catacombs and biking along the aqueducts.
