We enjoyed seeing both sides of Istanbul and riding the ferry. Ahmet told us about the history at multiple stops. Be prepared for city biking without bike lanes. We did have to maneuver around vehicles and people in busy areas. Tour was about 5 hours long and we enjoyed pastries at a bakery near the bike shop. The shop does not have a sign outside, the Google maps location gets you there and communication is great using WhatsApp.
Biking is the best way to see many neighborhoods and major sights effortlessly and in detail. Better than walking and being in a motorized vehicle. Follow the guide and you’ll glide through crowds and traffic, underpasses and onto ferries. Practice changing gears for the rare inclines. I recommend as the first excursion in Istanbul.
We saw some great sites, crossed the Bosphoroua to the Asian side and saw the iron church! Stopped for amazing ice cream which we earned on our bike ride.
Tolga, Can, and Alp were the best! Helpful, knowledgeable, and on the spot when a couple of folks took a spill. Very engaging, funny, and relational. We highly recommend them!
Fantastic bike tour from the European to Asian side of Istanbul. The 3 guides, Tolga, Can and Alp were informative, thoughtful, fun, went above and beyond to make sure our experience was great. Highlight of our trip, we would highly recommend this tour.
Ahmet Burak and Gaye were such great guides! Their knowledge of history was very good! We highly recommend them! 🤠
Of the many City Bike tours we've done, this was among the best. Our guide Tolga was great- Fun to ride with and knowledgeable about history and current day Istanbul. The opportunity to ride on both the European and Asian sides of Istanbul was a great way to learn about the city and the ferry transportation across the Bosphorus provided some great views and picture opportunities.
A carefully crafted tour by Cem and his company. Great sightseeing of both European and Asian Istanbul. We were very well taken care of and the ride was easy. The ferry ride offered a great view of Istanbul from the water and a quick way to get to see both sides of this historical city. Cem gave us a great historical perspective as well as views of modern day life. Would highly recommend this tour if you want to enjoy a leisurely ride away from busy old town and get different perspectives from the Bosphorus. Thank you Cem and Toona!
This was a great ride! It turned out I was the only customer and two guides were learning, so it was me with three guides--I felt well taken care of! Tolga, Kaan, and Gamze were so personable, attentive, and kind; they really looked out for me and made sure I had what I needed. We started in Balat and they provided a nice history of the area and then took the ferry over to the Asian side. Their knowledge of the city was impressive and I learned a lot. Once in Asia, we biked through other neighborhoods and stopped frequently for more history. They always answered my questions and were just fun people. I was very jet lagged and hadn't eaten much beforehand, so they kindly added a cafe stop to the tour so I could have a quick bite. We then took a different ferry back to Europe, and I learned about the Golden Horn and the Bosporus. By chance, I also got to meet the owner of the company before boarding this ferry--very nice! The biking is somewhat technical in that you are riding at times in the street or between pedestrians, so you should be comfortable with that aspect. They have helmets for you and help fit the bike to your height. The bikes are good with functional gears and working brakes--both of which are important on the hills of Istanbul! I really enjoyed this tour and enjoyed all three guides. I would recommend this tour to anyone who likes to get an overview of the city that is up close and personal! Thank you, Tolga, Kaan, and Gamze--I hope to see you again!
We had a wonderful few hours with Furkan and Gaya. We were fortunate it was only us so got lots of attention! We saw lots of the city and they were very knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed talking about the city and to get their different perspectives on life in Turkey. The ride was not difficult. Only suggestion would be to have e-bikes available for those that want them and the meeting place address on the app was incorrect and we arrived in the wrong place - about 10 minutes walk from the Balat station which is where we were supposed to be.
