More than just a bike tour

In our first days in Colombia we booked a 4 hour bike tour through Bogota. Our guide was Miguel, a 60 years old but timeless, very athletic Colombian who also was fluent in English. He showed us various sites near the centre that you wouldn't have found so easily on your own. My personal highlight: the giant food market, where Miguel knew about everybody and where we could try loads of tropical fruits that I had never seen before. After the bike tour we talked for a while in café Nós, enjoying one of the best coffees in Bogota. We had planned to go to National Reserve Tayrona and it appeared that Miguel had spend his youth in a community living there and owning two beaches in the park. We agreed to meet in Santa Marta, near the park, about 10 days later and the day after we went into the park by car with a friend of his. There we stayed for three days on Crystal Beach which was probably the most onforgettable part of our three weeks stay in Colombia. In the morning and evening, before tourists came and left again, we had 1 km of beach all for ourselves, went walking, snorkeling, kayaking and fishing with the experienced diver Miguel . He also presented us to some friends of his, with whom we had very interesting conversations about the past, present and future of this park and place. Through his cordiality, openness and honesty he really stole our hearts. So if you are planning a bike tour in Bogota or a stay in Tayrona National Reserve, ask for Miguel at Cerros Bike Tours.

Bike tour and Tayrona National Park

We are two backpackers from Germany and the Netherlands (64 and 56 years old) and visited Bogotá in June 2026. The bike tour with Cerros Bike Tours at the beginning of our stay was a great decision. We got to know the city intensively and in a very varied way, discovering areas that tourists don't usually see so easily. I would really like to highlight our guide Miguel as particularly positive. A very nice, trustworthy, and educated man who let us taste the fruits at the market and conveyed a lot of background knowledge about the country and its people - upon request in perfect English. We were lucky to have him for a tour in Tayrona National Park. And this experience was truly breathtaking. With his help, we were able to experience the life of the locals and the snorkeling paradise in the crystal-clear water intensively. Away from the usual tourist crowds! THANK YOU MIGUEL!!!!!

Expert tour guide in bike friendly city

Visited on a Sunday in may. Tour guide Miguel. 4 parts, historical, cultural, ecological, and coffee. Miguel was very knowledgeable, we enjoyed our tour with him, it was a group tour, us 2 and another 2 traveling on business. We all preferred English, but he could have done Spanish too. The bikes were very nice! Bike ride itself was easy, not much hills, also so many bike lanes in bogota, perhaps more than Amsterdam or any city in the world. Plenty of stops to rest and learn from Miguel. Tour length was about 10 AM to 3 PM. Afterwards we were starving, Miguel recommended us a local restaurant nearby, even helped get us a table and explain the menu, that was the cherry on top. He said a meal isn’t complete without Fish Soup! I would recommend the tour to anyone young and old!

Great guided bike ride

What a great bike tour with street artist David! Informative ride round part of Bogota, seeing some great street art, fruit tasting in the market and a visit to a lovely coffee shop that roasts it's own coffee. Also a visit to the artist's studio where we could have a go at spray painting. To finish the day off we played Tejo (a Columbian game which is a bit like petanque but with explosive jacks!) Thanks for a grand day out xxx

Excellent way to see and get introduced to Bogota!

This bike tour is a great way to get introduced to Bogota and see many parts of the city over the course of a few hours that you wouldn't be able to cover by foot. Miguel was an excellent guide who gave a lot of great information on the history of Colombia and the neighborhoods we were seeing. We got some great local street food and visited the wonderful market. Although Bogota can be a hilly city, this tour is mainly flat with a few moderate climbs.

Not my pick for families/kids

Pros: Miguel is a nice guy! Very knowledgeable. We enjoyed seeing different neighborhoods and getting a more “authentic” experience. This is an inexpensive tour and yet you’ll still see a lot. Cons: We booked the tour from the Chapinero location, but the company changed it without notifying us. Also, the photos were misleading- we only saw one mural in the distance and we didn’t see how coffee was roasted- we just went to a coffee shop. Unless we (the guests) asked to learn about it ourselves, the baristas were prepared to just serve us a coffee. Most importantly, I do not recommend this tour for families. Even for adults there are some close calls on the roads/sidewalks. And, despite the bikes being fun, the tour itself isn’t engaging for kids (long stops, hard for them to be engaged with the info In the way it was presented). Also- for all of us- we asked to stop and eat lunch many times (left at 10 AM and didn’t get done until nearly 4) but we just kept stopping for little bites (try a fruit, grab a pastry). We were beyond starving. When it started pouring rain, we hit a wall but had to keep riding back from across town. By the end of the day we were starving, completely drenched (even my raincoat didn’t do the trick and shoes were soaked), exhausted, and riding on busy, slick, unfamiliar roads. This was too long, too messy, and honestly a little scary. Needs to be better organized!

We regret that the weather conditions were not the best for you to fully enjoy the tour

One of the best tours I've experienced

This tour exceeded my expectations. We were guided by Marianna and Manuel. Very passionate, a lot of fun facts, and very good energy. I strongly recommend to book a tour with Marianna

Colombia is a taste!

It was a very pleasant and quiet tour under the command of the guide Miguel, who is a great acquaintance with the history of Colombia. The visit to the Paloquemao Market was the best time.

Best tour guide in Bogota

Amazing tour, amazing guide. Miguel is very knowledgable and explains the history in a captivating way. I did a walking tour that covered some of the same topics, and Miguel explained them in a much better way, in much better detail. If you only have time for one tour, do this instead of the walking tour.
