This was a whirlwind tour of Hanoi and we really enjoyed it! Our guide Tin Tin met us from the taxi and made the trip very personal for us. She was very informative and told us a lot about the history of Hoi A during our trip. We walked around the beautiful streets, visited a silk house and jewellers. We stopped at a traditional tradesman’s house that backed into the river and left the Chinese part of the town over the Japanese bridge and pagoda. We then visited a music venue for some traditional music and dancing. After this we visited the coconut village and took a ride up the estuary with a lot of other tourists in similar boats. We entered a large open area and there were karaoke floats and boats gathered around to sing along - it was a rather strange experience but thoroughly enjoyable non the less! We returned to the village for a beautifully prepared meal. Following this we returned to the town as the light faded to experience a trip down the river on a small boat and released our lanterns on the river. Our host was excellent company and very friendly. She spoke really good English and we even taught her some Geordie words!!!! Highly recommend a trip to Hoi An, such a pretty, if not a bit overcrowded, place to visit.
Very well managed tour with a wonderful guide, Tin Tin who was very flexible, informative and lots of fun! A relaxed pace with a good mix of cultural history and fun activities.
This tour had some enjoyable moments, but there were also a few areas that could be improved. Communication before and during the tour was a little confusing at times. Our tour guide seemed quite busy and under pressure, so it wasn’t always easy to ask questions or get a clear idea of the schedule. One thing that disappointed me was the return transfer. My booking included transportation back to my hotel, but I was encouraged to walk instead because my hotel was nearby. While it was within walking distance, the transfer was part of the package I had paid for, so I would have preferred for it to be provided without hesitation. The highlights for me were the basket boat ride, which was a lot of fun, and our two boatmen, who was genuinely funny and entertaining. The food was decent, and the lantern release in the evening was a lovely way to end the tour. Overall, I’m glad I experienced it, but I do think it’s a little overrated compared with the expectations set by the reviews. With clearer communication and more consistent service, this could easily be a 4- or 5-star experience.
Fun with a lot of history and culture. Beautiful location. The shopping was great especially the tailors.
Tin Tin was great. It was my friend's birthday and she got a gift for him. She was very knowledgeable and everything was well organized.
This was a very memorable tour with activities that we had never experienced before. Our tour guide was TinTin and she did a great job. I highly recommend this tour. However, since the “ride” was just hired by the company, our driver who was supposed to drop us off at our hotel took us to another street and told us to just walk to the hotel which was a little bit unexpected. Overall, it was a great experience. I highly recommend this tour.
The tour guide not expected so good.... just leave us at the floating lantern, and leave us behind to take the bus back to hotel. Never return our entrance ticket, as the ticket is valid for 3 days.
The trip has a lot of potential. Great variety of activities and opportunities to learn about Hoi An. Thoroughly recommend but the full success of your trip will depend on your guide. There were only 6 in our group yet the guide did not bother to ask our names. She managed to lose 1 regularly and she tended to rush us around with little explanation as to where we were going next and what it would involve. The silk factory was interesting although it became obvious that we were there to buy rather than learn. Yet again rushed so we would not buy anything so expensive without more time to consider. Same with the leather and clothing. So that was disappointing. The dinner was basic and OK. The basket boat was amazing thanks to our ‘paddler’ - no idea what you call him as no one explained. And lighting the lanterns and the boat ride amazing too - thanks to the boat handler. So, yes, a trip we recommend but we were let down by our guide. We would have bought more from the places we were expected to had we not been rushed and made to feel that was all we were there for. And a guide who explained more would have made the tour a lot more interesting.
Excellent tour covered a lot of Old Town Hoi A with very knowledgeable guide Toan who couldn’t have more helpful. The basket boat and lantern boat release were a great experience. Highly recommend this tour and Toan as guide.
Tintin was amazing. She made this tour fun and was very knowledgeable. Hoi an is so beautiful especially at night
