Dashaswamedh Ghat:- Dashashwamedh ghat è uno dei ghat più antichi, spettacolari e importanti, situato sulla riva del fiume Gange vicino al vecchio tempio Vishwanath nel Kashi. Il significato letterale del Dashashwamedh è il Ghat (fronte del fiume) dei dieci cavalli sacrificati (dash significa 10, ashwa significa cavallo, medh significa sacrificio). Ci sono due mitologie sul ghat: il Signore Brahma fu creato nel Dashashwamedh ghat per accogliere il Signore Shiva, e la seconda è che il Signore Brahma fu sacrificato i dieci cavalli in uno yajna qui. Questo ghat è famoso per l'Agni Pooja che si tiene qui ogni giorno la sera da un gruppo di sacerdoti dedicati al Signore Shiva, al fiume Gange, a Surya, Agni e all'intero universo.
Costruito sotto la direzione del Peshwa Amritrao di Pune nel 1807, RajaGhat fu descritto come Amritrao Ghat da James Prinsep nel 1831 e Grimes nel 1909. Sparsi in un'area vasta, a sud di Ghat si trova l'Annapurna Math e nella parte settentrionale una fortezza.
Harish Chandra ghat è uno dei due ghat di cremazione ed è anche conosciuto come Adi Manikarnika, che significa il terreno della creazione originale. È molto più piccolo di Manikarnika che è un ghat più significativo per la cremazione. Tuttavia, gli indù vengono da luoghi lontani a questo ghat per far cremare qui i loro morti poiché molti credono che otterrebbero moksha (salvezza). An unforgettable sunrise experience on the Ganges in Varanasi. Seeing the city awaken from the water as the first light touched the ghats was absolutely beautiful and gave a unique perspective of this ancient and spiritual place. Beautiful morning boat ride with the sun rising. Our tour guide, Akash, explained much of the Indian culture and was kind enough to get off the boat to explain the crematorium ghats to us in great detail. Great tour!
