When we got off the boat, they were hunting for customers. Since we had an elderly person with us... we were looking for simplicity. They made us believe they were giving us a price for 2 people but after doing the exchange... a big scam, 800 kroner for 65 euros quoted. Then the bus tour is terrible and at 4:00 PM. We were told it's over, we won't take you back to the boat after paying 80 euros for 2 people to go 3 km, that is simply called theft and dishonesty... not recommended... There are local buses that are much cheaper.
Enjoyable ride to see the major sights. There are two companies running red buses, a local and the official international one, so make sure you have the right one as they have different stops and routes. Our bus was clean and comfortable. We could hear and understand the narrative. Our drivers were friendly and helpful.

Bus decals block the windows so you can’t see out. The stops are not announced by number to match the map. Timing of the announcements is off.

The bus tour was acceptable for coverage of the centre of Bergen, but there were several issues that cause me to give a lower score. Our seats and the adjacent free ones at the rear of the upper floor could not receive the audio description of the city via the headphone sockets in front of us. Once we saw that I could connect via bluetooth to my phone, that improved until I used the phone to photograph interesting sights; then, the audio description was interrupted and had to be restarted via several steps. This was such a continuing annoyance that I eventually stopped trying to connect to that description, so missing some possibly interesting commentary! A second issue was that the one stop where we wanted to rejoin the bus to return to our ship had no street marker to indicate the stop’s location; we could locate it from the map, but there was nothing on the street itself to confirm the exact location. The drivers were friendly and welcoming, but the infrastructure disappointed a little.

Very disappointing buses always running late so stood around continuously waiting, after a 40 minute wait at 1 particular stop we boarded the bus went up stairs and it was roasting due to it being a warm sunny day, everyone was really hot so we asked for the roof down and was told point blank no and told rudely to open a window if we was warm, everyone other bus from a rival company that passed had their roof down, we paid £130 for tickets for 2 people for 2 days in and wouldn’t even say it was worth half that price

We fell for the organizer Hop on Hop Off (there is still Norway sightseeing) and drove the bus as a family for more than 1000 crowns a 3/4 round. A shortened schedule is available off-season. When we wanted to “hop up” again, however, no bus came. To the next stop latched again the dates awaited. There was no bus again! Therefore no recommendation

Worst experience possible … NO regular pickup times … in fact, never saw another bus after my first hop off … never got to hop on again.

Wasted 40 minutes of limited time in Bergen stopped by the side of the road-no explanation. A waste of $100 for what is supposed to be a 55 min round trip ride. A 20 min walk from cruise terminal and fish market and old town. . Many of the headsets outlets didn’t work. We have used hop on and off buses all the time. This was the worst! Bought tickets on Viator for 2. They said we needed to exchange them for paper-& we were given a ticket for one person. Fortunately I caught it before I boarded the bus

This tour was a complete letdown. If you are looking for an informative introduction to Bergen, this is not the way to go. The audio commentary was sparse and unhelpful, with long, awkward silences that made it seem as though the system wasn’t working. There was no guidance on what to expect at upcoming stops, and at one point we sat idly for ten minutes with no explanation at all. The driver’s announcements were unclear and difficult to understand, which only added to the confusion. We often take hop-on/hop-off tours in new cities and have always found them worthwhile. Unfortunately, this was by far the worst experience we’ve had—an absolute waste of both time and money.
