Itinerario
Fondato nel 1865 dalla Gran Loggia dello Stato della Louisiana Free and Accepted Masons, il Masonic Cemetery esprime un carattere distinto dai cimiteri cattolici che dominano la città. È noto per le sue numerose tombe insolite ed elaborate, una reputazione dovuta in parte alla natura comune del cimitero: i membri delle logge hanno unito le risorse per acquistare tombe di grandi gruppi. Occupando due isolati di città dalla forma strana, il cimitero ha una pianta triangolare, con via Conti che lo divide in due. L'impronta triangolare delle strade confinanti sovrapposte ai passaggi angolari interni del cimitero imita l'emblema massonico della piazza e del compasso. Le staccionate in ghisa racchiudono le sue due sezioni distinte, mentre le allées di quercia delineano i bordi settentrionale e occidentale. Le tombe sono disposte in modo compatto in file parallele a Bienville Street, con un'ampia passeggiata lastricata che attraversa il centro per fornire l'accesso a passaggi più piccoli tra le file.

Amazing experience! Loved learning about the history! Raphle was amazing and funny, Chris did a great job driving the bus and being helpful. We were under the big oak tree, it was dark and you couldn’t see much, I was taking pictures and enjoying the content. When I went back to look, the picture was bright like it was daylight and if you zoom in you can see a blurry figure. Overall great experience
It was a great tour ☺️ Roy was such a fun guide! It ran a little late and he offered to take us directly back to our vehicle, which was so kind. It isssss hot/humid even at night time for those of you who are out of state like I am, but the AC on the bus works great!

Creepy because it was dark but not spooky. Not worth $30, maybe $10-$15. Our host, Henry was nice and friendly. But this could’ve been a lot more about real paranormal activity than about basic NOLA graveyard facts. Stopped at an entry level beignet spot which was nice!
It was ok, I make the best out of any situation. Uhm spend 20 mins in an old cemetery. He gave us barely any information then let us walk around by ourselves. Then we stopped at morning call for another 20 mins. Then went to a newly built cemetery and spent the rest of the time walking around there (25+ mins) by ourselves. I got 0 information to take away from that. I enjoyed being on a bus rather than walking but I’d hardly call that a tour. The guy was cool n funny but I expect more information and “touring” to happen when I am paying for a tour

The guy that checked us in was EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL (negative 5 stares) . Actual tour guide on the van/bus was cool. Basically two stops.. a cemetery AND then a tree. Yes that’s it a cemetery in a tree.

Roy was an amazing tour guide! My daughter and I enjoyed every second of it! The Voodoo Tavern meeting spot made the best drinks!
