La Grande Piramide di Giza è la più antica piramide del plateu di Giza e la più grande piramide, costruita per il faraone Khufu intorno al 2580 a.C. Originariamente era alto 146 metri ed era fatto di circa 2,3 milioni di blocchi di calcare. Serviva come tomba reale di Khufu ed è l'unica meraviglia sopravvissuta delle Sette Meraviglie del Mondo Antico.
La Seconda Piramide di Giza, conosciuta anche come Piramide di Khafre, fu costruita per il re Khafre, il figlio di Khufu. Si erge leggermente più piccola della Grande Piramide, ma appare più alta perché costruita su un terreno più alto e conserva ancora alcune delle sue pietre di involucro lisce originali in cima.
La Piramide più Piccola di Giza è la Piramide di Menkaure, costruita per Re Menkaure, nipote di Khufu. È alto circa 65 metri, molto più piccolo delle piramidi di Khufu e Khafre, ma unico perché la sua parte inferiore è stata costruita utilizzando granito rosso, dandogli un aspetto distintivo. Accanto ad esso ci sono tre piramidi più piccole della regina. Anche se è il più piccolo, mostra una raffinata artigianalità ed è una parte importante del complesso piramidale di Giza.

Si trova proprio accanto alla piramide di Khafre e al Tempio della Valle, creando una delle scene più iconiche dell'antico Egitto.

We had an amazing experience visiting the Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx. This was a super experience! Our driver and our guide were excellent. Our guide Ahmed was so fun, creative with pictures and had a great sense of humor. His knowledge of Egypt and the Pyramids and Sphinx made this an experience to remember. Ibrahim his driver was excellent in picking us up and getting us to the Pyramids and back to the hotel. My wife and I would recommend using Ahmed & Ibrahim again the next time we come to Egypt.
