We had an amazing family tour of Santorini with Armani who has lived on Santorini for about 30 years. She adjusted the schedule and order of events to accommodate our plans for the day and was very kind and pleasant and incredibly knowledgeable about Santorini and Greek life and culture. She took us to a beautiful place for lunch and a winery as well as her own village and the village of Oia. We had a wonderful day with her as our tour guide.

Our private tour of traditional Santorini was an absolutely amazing experience that gave us a deeper appreciation for the island’s unique beauty, culture, and history. From start to finish, our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and amusing — he made the day both fun and insightful, ensuring we saw all the most interesting and scenic parts of the island. We visited the striking Red Beach and Black Beach, both breathtaking in their own way and unlike anything we'd seen before. We also explored several small, picturesque villages, each with its own charm, stunning architecture, and tranquil atmosphere. Along the way, we learned about the building rules and traditions that give Santorini its iconic look — whitewashed walls, blue domes, and narrow stone paths. A highlight of the tour was the wine tasting, where we sampled local wines unique to Santorini’s volcanic soil. The winery offered beautiful views and a relaxing atmosphere, and the wines (especially the Assyrtiko) were delicious. We also enjoyed a lovely lunch featuring fresh, local ingredients and classic Greek flavors. This tour was the perfect blend of sightseeing, culture, and relaxation, and thanks to our fantastic guide, we felt like we experienced the real heart of Santorini. Amani was amazing. Her English is fantastic and easy to understand. She is extremely knowledgeable about her beautiful island. She met us at the cable car early so we could beat the crowd to Oia. We had free time to take pictures, shop and enjoy the views. She then took us to many picturesque places and took pictures of us we will treasure forever. We had a wine tasting at a small vineyard that was so good. We then enjoyed traditional, local cuisine at a restaurant with a view of the entire island and caldera. I would recommend this tour and guide for your next trip to Santorini, Greece.

Akis was our guide and we couldn’t have asked for a better one. He is native to Santorini and knows the island and its history better than anyone. He got us to the best views and photo spots of iconic blue domes, windmills and beautiful vistas. The private tour took us to several towns from the north to the south, stopping at his favorite spots which quickly became our favorites too. Highly recommend Golden Ibex and Akis!

Our long-overdue review of our unforgettable family cruise, which included stops in Santorini, couldn't be complete without mentioning our incredible private tour with Amani. We were traveling with three generations—grandparents, teens, and everyone in between—and Amani catered to us all perfectly. From the start, Amani was amazing, informative, and so friendly. Since she’s a local, she knew all the best spots for taking family photos and got us to all the right spots before they filled with tourists. One of the highlights was the food—Amani took us to local spots where we tasted the most delicious Greek dishes, including some incredible local ice cream that we still talk about! We had an amazing day with Akis. He showed us what felt like all of Santorini and gave us insight into local life, as well as a thorough history lesson. He is so kind and funny; he kept the day moving with jokes and tidbits. He also was very thoughtful of our pace and tailored the day to suit our interests and abilities. Amongst the many stops, one of my favorites was a winery. There we had a delicious wine tasting and tour of the vineyard. He also showed us around Oia, Fira, Pyrgos, Kamari, and many other towns and sites. He’s also a skilled and enthusiastic photographer!! We had an unforgettable day and highly recommend Golden Ibex!

Our tour experience of Santorini was nothing short of amazing. Akis is the best tour guide you could ask for. His attention to every detail and smooth transition from place to place was amazing. He took very good care of our children and bought them ice cream. I will recommend him any day and will patronize him anytime in Santorini. We had a full day Santorini tour covering some of the main cities, ending with oia. Akis was our guide throughout the whole thing and kept it interesting with his humour and intellect. He was very accommodative and understanding, making sure we got our moneys worth.

My family and I have cruised multiple times before and used various other private tour providers. This was by far the best experience we have ever had on a shore excursion. We were able to see parts of the island that really showed the true beauty of Santorini and not just the tourist side. We never felt rushed and were always well taken care of. My son had the best time and says this was his favorite day of our entire trip. This is a must do while in Santorini. Highly recommend!
