David was a fantastic tour guide. He talked through all the highlights. Highly recommend.
Thank you for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear that you had a great experience visiting the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel with David. He is truly passionate about sharing the history, art, and highlights of these incredible sites, and we're glad his knowledge and enthusiasm made your tour enjoyable. Thank you for your recommendation, and we hope to welcome you again on another tour in Rome in the future! Best regards, The Tour in the City Team
The first tour I booked for Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel was canceled. I called Viator, and the rebooked me on the same tour for the same day but different time. I was told tour would be 3 hours. When we got to the tour (skip-the-line) the 4 people in my group we added to another group. The tour was supposed to start at 11 a.m., but we didn't actually start until 12:45 p.m. The tour lasted 1 hour. We lost about half of our group when we were getting ready to enter the Sistine Chapel. The tour guide didn't care, she just moved on. She left us in the Sistine Chapel and ended our tour there. She was not a very good guide. A lot of her descriptions had sexual innuendo, which I found to be unprofessional. I paid MORE for this tour than the one that was canceled. I didn't receive what the booking agent described and was very disappointed. It was a waste of money.
Dear Client, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us your review. We are really deeply sorry to hear that you felt that the tour didn't live up to expectations. The tour did last 3 hours but just and during and after the tour, we did not receive any complaints from you or any other client. In particular, we are dismayed that you felt our guide wasn't giving the best possible service they could during your tour. We do our best to hire guides who are passionate and really ready to engage clients and bring the Vatican Museum to life. We are actually surprised to hear that the guided tour was unprofessional as we received much positive feedback from other clients. Our Tour Guide has been working with us for a long time now, he has always received 5-star comments and the customers who did the tour with him were extremely satisfied. We would like to thank you again for the feedback and we are sorry if the visit wasn't as you expected. Kind Regards Stefano D.
Just beautiful. I rarely got to say that. The guide as well as very prepared breathed an air of passion. He never looked at the clock and from about 2 hours the tour lasted 3h and 30min! I can only recommend it.
Excellent guide Elisa! She was very kind and improved our knowledge ! Bravo! I was impressed by the whole organization both of the tour and the Vatican City itself !!
Our guide was very informative and his history of the Vatican was very impressive! The tour took most of the day and he did not stop to even take a drink. The only thing i found is that we weren't given much time to take photos as the tour moved quite quickly as there is so much to see but it wasn't a problem as we walked back into the Vatican after the tour finished to take some photos.
Our tour was absolutely amazing. We got lucky and only had 4 people in our group. Our guide Massimo Lacobelli was the best! Great sense of humor and so passionate about his job. You could tell he genuinely loved giving tours and made the experience that much better. We booked a second tour with the same company because of how good Massimo and the organization was.
We visited the Vatican museums in 2018 without a guide.and had not gained much from this visit given the crowds and limitations of an audio guide Visiting Rome in 2019 , we renewed our visit but this time with a guide. There is no photo , despite a still large crowd , we were able to fully appreciate this visit thanks to the competence of our guide who took the time before introducing us to the visit and give essential information on the history of the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel
Itg may or may not be the fault of the tour company, but ALL of the group tours are sent through at the same time. There's no time to really stop and enjoy the museums because the guide keeps admonishing you to keep moving. We were told we would be taken through the Vatican gardens and we were not. We were told we would get a guided tour inside St. Peter's Basilica and we did not. Save your money...
Hello SteveParr, Thank you very much for taking the time to post a review. I was sorry to hear that the Vatican guided tour didn't meet up your expectations. My apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused to your trip to Rome. Please note that as we are in high season, the amount of visitors attending to the Vatican City are higher than winter season. Unfortunately, Tour in the city has no control over the crowds, as the Vatican museums set-up their own venue capacity. On the other hand, I was delighted to hear your kind words about the service which your tour guide provided you with. We'll pass on the message to them, as they will be delighted to hear such a nice feedback. At Tour in the city , we take client's feedback seriously, and once again, we appreciate yours comments, as they help us to keep improving the quality of our tours. We hope we are able to take you on tour in the near future. Best regards, Stefano, Tour in the city team.
Tour guide excellent - very informative. The only improvement suggested, would be a map to indicate clearly where the meeting point is.
We had a great time learning about the history of the Vatican, sistine chapel and st Peter's basilica. Our guide Laura (at about tours)was very knowledgeable and nice. We definitely recommend this tour guide to all. Her English was very. Thanks for a wonderful day Laura.
