Richard was our guide visiting Bratislava. He was very knowledgeable about the city. He gave us a tour and then sent us recommendations of things to do on our free time. He answered all of our questions and took us to many different view points for the city. After the city tour, we went to Devin castle and had lunch. Unfortunately it began raining, but Richard had a couple options that allowed us to stay dry. It was fun to try new food and learn the history of Slovakia.
Samuel was a perfect tour guide, who is enthusiastic about his homeland and provided us with interesting insights into Slovak culture and history. Thank you very much!
Tadeas was a wonderful guide and the reason I gave the tour more stars than I wanted to. The tour itself was nice, but they don’t tell you if you have mobility issues, you will struggle. I don’t, but another person on the tour did. I was supposed to go on the tour on Monday, and after sitting outside for over two hours, calling and messaging, the company finally responded. The initial pick up time was 6 am, and I never got the whole ‘what to bring’ message or anything adjusting the time. They finally let me know after 8am that the driver was in an accident an hour prior (so, still an hour after pick up time) and they’d have to reschedule to Tuesday. I incurred expenses due to this issue. I did, however, get the ‘what to bring’ message and accurate pick up time for the rescheduled tour. I will note though that the guide was really great, and was knowledgeable and nice to all of us.
I’d like to leave a review, but this tour was canceled on me. I waited outside my hotel for over an hour to be picked up no one ever came. It took me trying to reach out to the tour operators- who never answered the phone each time I tried. I reached out to Viator and they could not find out anything. I told them I wanted a refund since it was clear I was not being picked up. They made me fill out some form through email. 2 hours later I got a message stating the driver was in a fender bender and that is why I wasn’t picked up. Ok. Well, I don’t know what to say ?
Basically this was a glorified van ride to 3 locations. The guide was very young and not very knowleagable. He gave us the bare minimum information and was looking things up on his phone just as we could have done ourselves. We saw one castle ruin up close and inside as it was free, the next Castle we saw from outside only and the third was another ruin we saw from below. Basically it was just photo opportunities with basic information at each place. We had 2 hours free time for lunch in Bratislava which was way too long as there wasn't much to see or do. What we did see is other tour guides taking their groups around and giving them LOTS of information we just didn't get from our guide and he was also not knowlegable enough to answer questions accurately. If we had hired a car and read information online we would have saved a great deal of money. Plus the van only opens on one side and has seats that need to be lifted to allow people in and out from the back which is definitely not ideal for a tour with more than one stop. There are more user friendly vans which open on both side and the people in the back can get out easily as well.
It’s an interesting city to see. I recommend staying 3 hours. Less than this makes it difficult to see much of the city. We had an excellent guide and driver, Timo. I recommend Slovak Pub for lunch. Authentic food and delicious. I recommend the travel company give more accurate pick up times. I was told 6 am in an email which meant I got up at 5 am. The driver provided and update via WhatsApp. I was never told they would reach out using WhatsApp. My driver arrived at 8:10 am Not happy about the poor organization and communication.
George was very friendly and knowledgeable. Took the time to explain many aspects of the Slovak heritage and life. The town was small but nice
Did a great trip to Bratislava today. Murat our guide was a mine of information and made our tour very interesting and enjoyable. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone and give it an enthusiastic 2 thumbs up!
Our guides were very comical and fun. They let the travellers choose the pace of the day which was great. Our driver Rasťo was kind and shared his knowledge of local areas we passed through. Highly recommend for a day trip to see some beautiful places!
Mária was an amazing tour guide. This time of year had a small group and the times for everything was perfect. It never felt rushed and I definitely recommend seeing Bratislava. I will note that we did not go into Devins castle but there is a great view if you go by the toilets.
