You learn a lot about the history of Ireland, but you also spend a lot of time on a bus. Our guide was knowledgeable, but could have talked a bit less.
The driver likes to text while driving a huge bus with 50 passengers. . I was sitting right behind the driver Alec and the bus suddenly swerved . I looked at the driver and he was tapping away at his cellphone sitting in the center of the wheel . He righted the bus and within 15 seconds the exact same thing happened again . I clearly saw it happen right over the drivers left shoulder and unwisely didn’t say anything. It’s insane to be driving on a narrow Ireland road in a huge bus and tapping away on a cell phone The guide Pat was very personable and had great stories but the tour was not good . The highlight supposedly the town of Kilkenny that was uninteresting and full of the tourist town shops
This was a lovely tour. Dermot was a great host and guide and was very knowledgeable. Mark was a great driver as well. The views at Glendalough were stunning and the Kilkenny Castle was beautiful. I highly recommend this tour!
Be on time. Don’t miss the bus. Pack binoculars. Spectacular scenery, Terrific narration by guide on/off bus, and Local flavor greatly appreciated. Superb customer service. I left personal item onboard; and Collins Tours graciously returned my belonging. Very grateful for the experience. Apologetic for the inconvenience I caused to driver, guide, and other patrons for my error in timing.
This tour was very enjoyable, well planned, no stress or hurry. The guide, Pat, was amazing. He told us a lot about the history of Ireland and explained all the interesting things we saw. Not least was his warmth and personal care so impressing, especially towards the children in the group. Last but not least was (Sir) Alec, very careful and at the same time clever, driving "through the streets, broad and narrow". On the whole this was an excellent tour which I will recommend to anybody.
A great day trip that includes both experiences of culture, history, nature, and another city. Perfect if you don’t want to rent a car Ann drive yourself. Also we got a lot of information from our guide.
