This was probably the best tour we’ve been on. Crystal, our guide, was so knowledgeable in the history of the Cathedral and its recent restoration. She was super prepared and provided context and details using images from her IPAD. Very well organized, the meet up was seamless as was the pace of the tour. I would highly recommend booking tours with Crystal.
Great guide Arsène. But too expensive! Nice tour all the same and appreciable skip-the-line access. Thank you!
Our guide Alexandre was exceptional. Best guide of our many tours this trip. Very knowledgeable and polite. Had great introduction to the cathedral before entering providing a great deal of history and information about the structure and function. Has great illustrations to help understand all of the features to the cathedral both inside and out. He communicates via what app so make sure you have that app.
Alexandre was amazing. He communicated with us the day before, suggesting a bit earlier meeting time, and his recommendation made the visit to Notre Dame even better. We arrived 5 minutes early, and he was already there ready to go. Alexandre was very knowledgeable and provided an amazing amount of historical and current insights. The details he pointed out made the experience better than any visit we had done in the past. We had visited Notre Dame a couple of times; both were before the fire. Seeing her today after the renovation was like seeing her when she was brand new. Although Alexandre’s native language is French, his English was very good. We had no issues understanding and conversing. Alexandre was very pleasant and engaging. We highly recommend booking a tour with him.
We purchased three tickets for a tour of Notre Dame that was billed as an “Interior Small Group Guided Tour Max 5 Participants” that was to begin at 8:45 am at a total cost of $245.10. Three days before the tour we were notified that the time had been changed to 1:00 pm. When we arrived at the appointed location there were 11 people scheduled for the tour, not the max 5 we booked and paid for. Had we known this was to happen we would have booked a large group tour at a lower price. Our tour guide, Milica, was superb. She was passionate and extremely knowledgeable about the history of Notre Dame, its construction, the art work, relics, the fire and the reconstruction. Our friend who joined us on this tour is a true Francophile who speaks French fluently. She was extremely impressed with Milica and said she learned a great deal as did my husband and I. In summary, we were extremely pleased to have Milica as our tour guide and unsatisfied with Viatour because we did not have the small group experience we had booked and paid for.
We’re very happy to hear that you enjoyed the tour and that you liked your guide. Regarding the small-group experience, the situation was due to a last-minute change in Notre-Dame Cathedral’s access rules. Under the new rules, groups of five could no longer benefit from skip-the-line entry. For this reason, we combined several small groups into a larger one so that everyone could still enjoy skip-the-line access. In other words, while the group was larger than originally planned, the benefit you received was the skip-the-line entry, which replaced the original small-group advantage. We hope this helps clarify the situation, and we appreciate your understanding.
Excellent tour guide, full of interesting knowledge about Notre Dame. He was very accommodating to our group and was very pleasant to all.
Our tour guide was an art history, major from Italy and she was amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed her explanation of all the symbolism and renovations in Notre Dame
This tour was superb! Have been in Notre Dame several times, but learned so much this time. And our guide Liz was perfect - so knowledgeable, fun, responsive, and considerate of our small group’s needs. Bravo!!
We arrived early, but Viator guide never showed up. Another guide tried calling with no luck. He took care of us, and it was a great tour!
We sincerely apologize for what happened. The guide you met on site is actually a member of our team and a colleague of the guide originally assigned to your tour, who was running late. Our management therefore asked this guide to take over your group, while your assigned guide would take care of the other guide’s clients. A guide swap was arranged at the last minute, but it was carried out entirely within our own team of guides. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused and thank you for your understanding. We hope you still enjoyed the tour.
Our guide was warm, welcoming, patient and above all extremely knowledgeable about the long and very early history of Notre Dame and Paris. Thank you!!
