Itinerario
A Piazza Syntagma, facciamo una breve sosta per assaggiare il tradizionale koulouri greco, l'iconico pane al sesamo gustato quotidianamente dagli ateniesi, mentre viviamo la vivace atmosfera della piazza centrale della città.
Dopo piazza Syntagma, ci dirigiamo vicino a via Ermou per assaggiare torte tradizionali appena fatte, tra cui bougantsa e spanakopita, gustate in un locale popolare tra gli ateniesi.
Nella zona di Monastiraki, visitiamo il vivace mercato centrale di Varvakeios per sperimentare il lato tradizionale di Atene. Assaggiamo miele greco di alta qualità e poi ci sediamo in una gastronomia locale per gustare salumi e formaggi tradizionali, accompagnati dallo tsipouro greco, una bevanda locale preferita.
Nel quartiere di Psiri, ci fermiamo in un locale tradizionale per gustare il famoso street food greco pita gyro. Finiamo poi con il loukoumades, il classico dolce inzuppato di miele consumato in Grecia fin dall’antichità.

Food is often the window to history and culture. Vasilis (also known as Bill) was able to provide insight in both. It never hurts to have a history buff that loves to eat as your tour guide. As we explored the streets of Athens, Vasilis not only provided great bits of information, but he was able to provide some iconic views (Which he times perfectly, by the way). If you are lucky enough to have Vasilis as your guide, expect a lot of local knowledge, history, and a bit of humor sprinkled in. Vasilis was a prime example of how great the people of Greece are. Come hungry, leave with a wonderful Greek experience.
Everything was amazing! We had many different tastings and we were full after the tour! Penny is very informative and friendly, we loved her!

We had such a great time on this food tour!! The food we tried was fresh and yummy, we visited all the local spots for fresh spanakopita, bougatsa and gyro, warm loukoumades, and tsipouro and so many more … walking through sunny Athens made the experience truly amazing. What really made the tour special was our guide, Penny. She was incredibly kind and friendly! She guided us through spots only locals can spot. She shared tips and stories about the city and even recommended some really amazing dinner spots (Penny, you hold a special place in my heart after this) This tour is 100% worth it, I would do it again in a heartbeat.Highly recommended!

An amazing experience from start to finish! Everything was very well organized, with a perfect balance between sightseeing, storytelling and free time. One of the best experiences I’ve had in Greece! The tour was excellent and, together with Penny, we discovered so many beautiful spots in Athens. We ate a wide variety of local food and everything was absolutely delicious. She has so much knowledge and explained everything perfectly, just like a true local. Highly recommended experience!
