Susan was a very informative guide who took us on a very interesting tour of the city and pointed out the varied architectural sites including a visit to the cube houses. We sampled their special frites with mayo, onions, and peanut sauce, along with some croquets.
Thank you for your lovely review! We're delighted that Susan's insights helped bring Rotterdam's history and architecture to life. We're glad you enjoyed the local food tastings as well!
We had an excellent day and food tour with Susan. She was flexible as we’d recently done a food tour in Amsterdam so some things could have been the same. She was very helpful at the conclusion to get us where we needed to be.
Thank you for your kind words! We’re thrilled you enjoyed the food tour and that Susan made the day flexible and smooth—she’ll be happy to hear this!
We had a really lovely tour and thoroughly enjoyed learning from the very knowledgeable Susan! Slight criticism in that we thought it should of been called a walking tour with food, rather than a food walking tour but still found it fantástic and enjoyed the experience
We were booked on this food tour on a Monday morning and nothing was open! We thought it was a food tour so we didn’t eat breakfast. We were starving by the time we did actually try one food. This tour cost 300 for 4 people and our guide spent 30 on food. They should have marketed this tour as a walking tour and NOT a food tour. Very disappointed. I think we should get a credit for half the money. It was only a two hour tour! Guide tried his best but still very disappointed!
Susan was very friendly and knowledgeable about the city. We had a fabulous tour today. She was very nice about not pushing us too fast. I like to take pictures along a tour and she let me do so with no problem. Enjoyed the food tasting, but some of the portions were quite large.
Susan was an excellent tour guide, providing history and examples of current and past culture. We had the opportunity to see the unique architecture that Rotterdam is known for. We had samples of Dutch food that we enjoyed thoroughly.
We were on a short cruise through Europe and fancied seeing Rotterdam in more detail. We met at the Central train station and things got off to a slow start but soon picked up. Our tour guide was passionate about her City and spoke knowledgeably. We stopped about 5 times to taste food which was as diverse as the population of Rotterdam. It’s a very clean City and quite modern in architecture. We finished with a short water taxi ride and then finished the food tasting with Dutch cheese and beer matching. Good value for money and a great way to spend 4 hours
Belgium beer and fresh herring! Susan was delightful! I didn't know Rotterdam was so interesting. She spoke of all the different architecture in the city and the philosophy of the designs. Quite intersting. Also the food hall and fresh herring! Yum!!!
I wanted to advise that while we had a very nice history and architecture tour of Rotterdam- we did not get a food tour as promised. I don’t know what to say. We literally did not sample anything and walked 6 miles. I really am dissatisfied. Not with The guide—she did her job per se giving us a history lesson-but not food—so what was the confusion here? I kept thinking it was going to turn into a food sampling. Like, for example, she said “Now let’s make our way to Chinatown..” but no we didn’t get any food there- we talked about landscaping. I just got frustrated. If you’re looking for a true food tour where you sample local tastes and specialties— this was not it. We even politely contacted the owner to advise him of what happened and got no refund nor apology. So I feel obligated to leave this review.
Michel was an amazing tour guide!!! Informative, personable and entertaining! We would highly recommend!!
