Lovely guide. Great food and experience. The tea ceremony was beautiful

Unfortunately, a very disappointing experience with Bali Culinary Tours — particularly because the company otherwise looks fantastic and has so many excellent reviews. We booked the Ubud Food & Culture Tour for 5:00pm on 15 August. Shortly after booking, I realised the date/timing wasn’t going to work for us and contacted the company to cancel. I emailed our cancellation at 8:33am on 14 August — approximately 32.5 hours before our tour. Their cancellation policy stated “24 hours prior to the tour”, so I reasonably expected a refund. The refund was refused. Initially I was told that all arrangements with the restaurants and guides had already been confirmed and organised. However, messages with our guide at the time showed he was still asking us to choose a time “so I can scheduling with restaurants”. When I told him we needed to cancel, he replied “Sure no problem.” After I provided the timestamp showing that I had cancelled more than 24 hours before the tour, the company then explained that their “24 hours prior to the tour” policy does not actually mean 24 hours before the tour. They say it means cancellation on the previous calendar day according to their internal policy. That distinction was not stated in the cancellation policy presented to me. The company has since acknowledged that the wording could lead to a different interpretation and said they are reviewing it to make it clearer for future guests, but they have still refused to refund the Rp 1,980,000 we paid. I completely understand businesses having cancellation policies and protecting themselves from genuine last-minute cancellations. But if a policy says “24 hours prior to the tour”, I believe customers should be able to rely on those words. It’s a real shame. We chose Bali Culinary Tours because it looked like a wonderful company, and I would much rather have been leaving a review about an amazing food tour than about a refund dispute.

What an amazing experience! The entire tour was so personable and connecting my guide, such a beautiful soul, explained everything down to the very fine tune of ingredients the hands that prepared them the time and dedication to ensure that every small dish was understood, from the many ingredients used to make the different items I tasted to the time needed to prepare. This was just such a verse opportunity to taste so many different types of Balinese food. The company was great! I just couldn’t have ask for anything more and I would recommend this tour again and again and again!

A lovely tour led by a local with lots of interesting stops. Includes a lot of great food - we were so full by the end! Would recommend for other foodies.

If you love plant-based food (or if you’re just curious), this tour is an absolute must in Ubud. In just half a day, I got to taste more than ten unique creations: carrot “salmon,” jackfruit rendang, raw lasagna, all the way to a vegan tiramisu that blew my mind. Every stop on the tour was a new discovery, and the guide made it even better by sharing insights about the dishes and the local culture. The pace was perfect, the organization super smooth, and the atmosphere very welcoming. I loved the variety of flavors but also the little touches like mocktails, herbal elixirs, and specialty coffees. It’s an authentic, delicious, and inspiring experience I would 100% recommend 🌱💚

I had such an amazing time!! The places we were taken were places I would have never chosen on my own, and I’m so happy that’s the case because it’s expanded my awareness to what’s available here in Ubud! The food was YUM! The places were authentic and quirky, and the stories attached to them were inspiring. Thank you!! Highly recommend.

As a foodie but not a vegan or vegetarian, I joined this plant-based food tasting walking tour with an open mind — and I enjoyed it very much, far more than I expected! The dishes were wonderfully flavoursome and creatively prepared. We visited multiple stops, each with its own unique atmosphere, and two in particular captured my heart! Robyn and Ayu were warm, friendly, and easy to chat with throughout the tour. Highly recommended!

This tour was absolutely amazing! We had the opportunity to experience the incredible food of Bali while learning so much about Balinese culture. Every stop was thoughtfully chosen, and the dishes we enjoyed were both unique and delicious. What really made the experience special were our guides — they were so kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. It truly felt like we were dining with friends. If you find yourself in Ubud, I highly recommend this tour. It was a highlight of our trip!

Wou this was so unexpectedly fun! Ive explored ubud for a while before and havent known this places. Very delicious all (and healthy), cute and unique places. I loved the female owned vegan cakes place, the raw vegan tiramisu is out of this world. The tea place is like walkiing down the rabbit hole - mysterious, cool and feels like an underground little zen room where anything can happen. Loved the whole experience! So fun to do with friends.
