Questa isola e vecchio posto commerciale ha un pedigree alimentare serio. Influenze provenienti da tutta l'Asia e oltre hanno fatto evolvere i piatti qui in qualcosa di veramente originale. Ecco perché Phuket Town è stata incoronata 'Città della Gastronomia 2017' dall'UNESCO. Mentre è allettante essere un barbone da spiaggia, chi si trascina fuori dalla sabbia scopre i segreti dietro i sapori dell'isola in piccoli gruppi fino a 8 ospiti esclusivi. Dimenticate il pad Thai e il curry verde, sono piatti centrali della Thailandia. Non vogliamo rovinarvi la sorpresa, ma preparatevi a sbavare mentre asciugate i bocconcini con naan cotto a legna, sgranocchiate ciotole di tagliatelle Hokkien affumicate, lavorate le bacchette su involtini di poh pia soffocati in una ricca salsa di tamarindo tra molte altre degustazioni deliziose in posti che fareste fatica a trovare da soli.
Il tour si conclude di nuovo al punto di partenza, il mercato principale di Ranong, situato lungo Ranong Road, nel cuore della città. - Si noti che il nostro tour regolare si svolge alle 10:00 e 10:30, e a volte aggiungiamo un tour extra alle 12:30. Solo le 12:30 non vanno all'interno del mercato (ma i nostri orari precedenti lo fanno!). Anche i venditori di cibo di strada si prendono una pausa, quindi non tutti i tour gastronomici di Phuket saranno esattamente uguali, ma non temete, il tour sarà sempre pieno di roba buona!

This tour was awesome!!! Our first stop was the best soup I’ve eaten in Thailand and I’ve been here a month. And each stop was a multi generational establishment which makes you feel good to support. I really loved every second of it.
Ms Lucky was a great guide who took time to explain the food and region where the food came from. She did a great job introducing us to the owners as well, so nice to get to see the variety of local food available. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic hidden gems, eat like a local! All delicious and the stories behind each place added so much to the eating experience. Five locations, 14 different tastings, excellently curated. Gigi was full of knowledge and sparkle. Catered to us as pescatarians. Go as hungry as you can, there’s so much delicious food to eat.

We had an incredible time on this 15+ tasting food tour through Phuket Old Town and would recommend it to anyone visiting Phuket. The experience was so much more than just eating—it was a deep dive into the local culture, history, and hidden food gems that we never would have found on our own. A huge thank you to our guide, Cat, who was absolutely outstanding. She was professional, kind, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable. Her English was excellent, making it easy to understand the fascinating stories behind each dish, the local history, and Phuket’s unique cultural influences. She kept the group engaged from start to finish and made everyone feel welcome. The food itself was phenomenal. We visited several local favourites, including Michelin-recognised restaurants, and sampled an amazing variety of dishes ranging from savoury street food and rich curries to traditional desserts and refreshing drinks. Many of the foods were dishes we never would have known to order as tourists, giving us a truly authentic taste of Phuket. Every stop offered something different, and the variety ensured there was always something exciting to try. By the end of the tour, we were completely full and had gained a much greater appreciation for Phuket’s food scene and heritage. If you’re looking for an authentic local experience, fantastic food, and a guide who genuinely loves sharing her culture, this tour is a must-do. Thank you, Cat, for such a memorable day—we’ll be talking about this experience long after our trip is over!
What a fantastic experience we had. Lucky was superb, full of fascinating information about the country's culture, history, ingredients and meals, but in a fun and relaxed way. We learnt so much about the melting pot of cultures here. We ate meals from China, Malaysia, Burma and Thailand. To see the energy of the local market who supply all the restaurants and locals alike was fabulous. And to meet the restaurant owners was great too. Go hungry... there is a lot of food!

My husband is a chef and found it to be excellent. So great to try meals we otherwise may not have been introduced to. 10/10. This food tour was amazing! Cat was awesome, kind, & very knowledgeable. We enjoyed trying all the different foods and walking around the town. Learning about different cultures & Phuket’s history was the best part as well as our tour guide, Cat! Highly recommend this food tour!!! She even gave us extra desserts to take home and try for our honeymoon!! We love Cat!!!!
