Questo non è solo un tour gastronomico; è una passeggiata attraverso la mia storia. Sono nato e cresciuto a Koukaki, e la chiamo ancora casa. Attraverso questa esperienza, ti mostrerò com’è davvero la vita qui – oltre le guide e nei ritmi reali e quotidiani della città. Sorseggeremo vino come fanno i locali e faremo un salto negli amati ristoranti, panetterie e gastronomia a conduzione familiare che hanno superato la prova del tempo. Assaggerete i piatti tipici locali, ascolterete le storie dietro le ricette e incontrerete le persone che rendono questo quartiere così speciale. Koukaki si trova appena sotto l'Acropoli, eppure rimane un vero e proprio centro locale - pieno di carattere, creatività e spirito comunitario. Mentre camminiamo, condividerò aneddoti personali, gemme nascoste e la storia meno conosciuta della zona, dandoti una comprensione più profonda della cultura locale di Atene - il tutto mentre spuntiniamo, sorseggiamo e passeggiamo.

Itinerario
Esploreremo Olympiou Street, la vivace zona pedonale con tutti i bar e ristoranti del quartiere più locale del centro di Atene, Koukaki. Proveremo un souvlaki o un giroscopio al mio posto preferito grill locale.
Proveremo un altro tipico spuntino salato greco, che è naturalmente la tortina di pasta fillo. La panetteria è un'azienda locale a conduzione familiare dove compro il mio pane e le mie torte da più di 20 anni. Avremo anche piatti meze in una taverna greca locale (Mousaka, Tzatziki, insalata greca, Gemista) e condivideremo il vino locale come fanno i locali.
Ci dirigeremo verso un microbirrificio locale, dove ti offrirò una birra locale greca. Questo posto offre birre che di solito puoi trovare sulle isole greche.
Naturalmente finiremo la serata con uno dei miei dolci greci preferiti. Ti accompagnerò anche fino al punto di arrivo che è la stazione della metropolitana Akropolis e ti mostrerò la bellissima strada pedonale di Makrigianni e Apostolou Pavlou, dove avremo la possibilità di goderci l'Acropoli illuminata! Il modo perfetto per finire la serata!
Visiteremo il quartiere più antico di Atene, Plaka e passeggeremo per le pittoresche stradine. Concluderemo la nostra serata con un bicchierino di una bevanda greca locale presso il più antico distellery di Atene.

Christina is a wonderful and knowledgeable guide. The food and drinks we had on the tour were excellent and a great variety. Highly recommend!
Christina, our guide was charismatic, charming and knowledgeable about her craft. Tasty assorted dishes were accompanied by thoughtful interaction . Koukaki is a can’t miss neighborhood with outstanding and authentic cuisine.
Just beneath the Acropolis of Athens, the neighbourhood of Koukaki is full of quiet streets, family-run tavernas, and spots you’d never stumble into without being with someone in the know. We met up with Christina, who was warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable, and she led us to four local gems and into the heart of Greek home-style cooking. Since it was just myself and a family member, Christina took up on a private and customized tour! We had a variety of amazing Greek dishes I had never tasted before which included salads, mezze, slow-cooked dishes, juicy pork souvlaki in a pita, and finally, loukoumades! These are crispy little dough puffs soaked in honey and finished with a sprinkle of cinnamon. Think of them like Greek doughnuts! It was just a perfect way to end the meal! This was such a fantastic experience and I can honestly say that meeting Christina and travelling through Koukaki with her was one of our most memorable experiences during our stay in Athens. This is a must-do tour and I highly recommend it. 10/10 stars!

What made it even more special was the rooftop experience. The views were stunning, especially at sunset, and the atmosphere was just perfect relaxed, beautiful, and memorable. It was the kind of moment you just want to pause and enjoy. On top of that, the guide was fantastic: friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate. You can really feel the love and effort put into creating this experience. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to discover the city in a different way, combining great food, beautiful views, and a warm, welcoming vibe. I would 100% do it again!

One of the best and final parts of my Greece excursion was a personalized food tour by Christina and this was hands down one of the best food tours I ever had! Christina is very knowledgeable about the food and culture of Greece and told some outstanding stories during the tour! If you do not book Christina you will definitely be disappointed in any other Athens Food Tour!
This was such an immersive food tour into a different part of Athens that is vibrant and unique. Kristina was an amazing host, who clearly loves her city and the history surrounding it. We were treated to all of her favourite spots - all of which were 10/10 - where feasted on items we had never tried, like moussaka and briami, as well as more familiar dishes, like gyros/souvlaki. By the time we got to dessert, I could have rolled down the Acropolis hill. It felt like excellent value for the cost and that we were in no rush for it to finish. Thank you so much for such a fun experience. Would happily recommend.
