The tour director, Lex, was an excellent tour guide! He was very knowledgeable, helpful, and patient with elderly travelers! I truly enjoyed this trip, and I will travel again with your company. Thank you!
If you’re fortunate enough to get Gabor Balint, our exceptionally well-versed tour guide, you’re in for a real treat. He really made the trip. He was extremely knowledgeable, having studied extensively from many sources, and in addition to his extensive historical, cultural and statistical knowledge he brought to the table many tidbits from his own world travels, saving us a Lot of trial and error on future journeys of our own. Gabor’s presentation manner is especially engaging - more intimate conversational, not your typical public announcement style. You feel like you’re traveling with your best friend who also happens to be an encyclopedia of whatever you want to know about the world and how to navigate it 😄. AND he does multiple routes. As far as the tour itself, it hit all the expected highlights. Be sure to read your itinerary and book ahead any self-pay attractions; they can sell out quickly. The gem of the trip for me was the little Spanish town of Mijas, with its fresh Mediterranean charm and pristeen air. Who knew it was even there! I appreciated that the trip was customizable with optional attractions and plenty of time to explore on our own. Gabor always gave us tips regarding places to check out and dine. Also the bus was new, air conditioned, comfy and impeccable. I had cellular coverage everywhere we went and WiFi in all the hotels (which were all clean and in good working order). The breakfasts (included daily) typically had good protein and fresh produce options as well as the ubiquitous free and fun espresso / cappuccino machine! I hope to take more GoEuGo tours in the future 😀.
Loved this tour. stopped very early in quaint villages/locations before the large tour groups arrived. The guide/driver were wonderful. The accommodations were also spot on. I would recommend this to anyone.
Do not book with Firebird! Their customer service is appalling. Our friends and we travel a great deal. This was the worst experience we have ever had with a tour company. First of all, the hotels were great. We were in the Olissipo Castelo in Lisbon, the Eurostar Das Artes in Porto and The Quinta Da Cotinha in Alijo not Pinhao, as they insisted. Alijo is in the middle of nowhere far into the mountains, thirty minutes away from Pinhao and away from all the action. The Quinta was wonderful, as was the sweetest manager you could ever find. However, we were left in a small, old town that did not normally have visitors. We struggled to find anywhere to have meals since the Quinta only served breakfast. No one in the village spoke English to assist us when we were lost. Firebird had the nerve to tell us that we were wrong as to being booked in Alijo, and that we were booked in Pinhao. I think the sign entering the town should be more accurate. On our first evening, after being exhausted after our travel, we received an email that our tour for the next day was changed from an historical tour to a food walking tour. We had to spend more than an hour arguing with Firebird to obtain a comparable tour. Then, they provided a tour guide who barely spoke English who left us stranded in an unknown area of Lisbon where we had no idea how to return. One of our co-travelors had mobility issues. She had great pain struggling the hills of Lisbon to try to find our way back to our hotel. The worst part was when we arrived in the Douro Valley. Our tour was to include a winery tour with lunch included, for which we had already paid. When we met with our driver, he said that Firebird had not booked the winery tour, and he was uncertain as to where to even take us. Finally, he found out that a winery tour was scheduled, but that we would have to pay for our own lunch, even though we had already paid for it through Firebird. When we sat down for what appeared to be a beautiful location for lunch and they brought wine out for us, they abruptly pulled the wine away from us as we reached to pour, telling us that we had to leave. We are four professional people, and found this to be extremely humiliating. Our driver then took us to a greasy spoon in town where we ate stale bread and cheese at our own expense. There was no where else to eat at that time of day. Overall, I would never book with them again. They are unresponsive when you contact them in an emergency situation and do not deliver on promises and representations. They provide you with such canned email responses that you question whether you are communicating with a human. They never offer solutions, and merely try to buy time, saying they are looking into it. When you are traveling to a country in which you do not speak the language, this is particularly uncomfortable. If it had not been for the kindness of the Portugese drivers, guides and hotel staffs, we would have been in big trouble. Portugal, itself, is a wonderful country. The people are very friendly, kind and generous. Do not allow Firebird to damage the experience.
My overall experience of this trip is not good compared to before the pandemic. 1. Many of the hotels are of bad quality. Only 2 out of total 6 hotels are good. The hotel in Valencia (Companile) has mites on pillows, and shower hose leaking. Very poor standard. Should give us at least AC hotel by Marriott, Ibis or Holiday Inn Express. 2. In Barcelona, there were 2 times of new clients pickup, one was in the city center in the late noon and another time was at Barcelona airport in the morning. The Barcelona airport pickup was not part of the itinerary. We were stuck in the traffic jam near the airport for 1 hour, wasted time. 3. The drop-off point in Madrid was quite far (1km) away from the meeting point. It was a long walk back to the meeting point.
Got a call with USA caller ID so i thought it was a prank call. We were already in Madrid & it was our Day 4 in Spain. The call was from our tour provider informing us that due to the COVID-19 epidemic in Spain, the tour had been canceled & we will get our full refund. 5 days after they canceled the trip, i got my full refund (8 pax)
Eric was a great tour leader and Domingos is a very professional driver. A lovely group of people to travel with and so many amazing things to be seen in 1wk

First of all we thank you for all member in this tour, we were happy as a family.

I would write about:
The tour Manager it seem he is not happy doing his job you can tell from his voice, his gesture, we hardly hear his voice when He explained the area that we will visit or say something.
We should pay 5 Euro it should 10 Euro but he give discount 50 more for the place close with the beaches, i forgot the name of place.
He couldn't communicate well with the driver who can not speak English at all or He can not speak Spanish either.
Changes driver at Portugal, wont be happened if I choose a good company like Cosmos Tour, sorry i should say .
The bus was okay.
Hotel at Portugal before we returned to Madrid was far from our expectation, should we been notified before so we just put some dress or necessities on small bag then dragging the all suitcases to our room. Lucky us that we got on ground flour.

Love the city and hope be back same day.
