Kathmandu Durbar Squire, che si trova nel cuore della vecchia città di Kathmandu a Basantapur, non manca mai di impressionare i visitatori della prima volta con il suo insieme di palazzi, cortili e templi costruiti durante il periodo di Malla. La Piazza Durbar include le Leggende di Hanuman che dicono che Swayambhu fu concepito da un fiore di loto che germogliava in mezzo a un lago che una volta si estendeva sulla valle di Kathmandu. La più grande immagine del Buddha Sakyamuni in Nepal si trova su un piedistallo al limite occidentale di Swayambhu. Dietro la cresta c'è un tempio dedicato a Manjusri o Saraswati - la dea dell'apprendimento. Chaityas, statue e luoghi sacri delle divinità buddiste e indù riempiono il complesso dello stupa.
Kathmandu Durbar Square è uno dei siti Patrimonio dell'Umanità dell'UNESCO noto anche come Hanuman Dhoka Square / Basantapur è una delle principali attrazioni della valle di Kathmandu. Il nome Hanuman Dhoka Durbar è originato dalla statua di Hanuman eretta dal re Pratap Malla al passaggio della regale residenza reale nel 1672 d.C. Ci sono diversi templi, santuari, cortili e un palazzo all'interno della piazza Durbar che riflette l'arte e architettura del tempo medievale.
Situato a 8 km a est del centro di Kathmandu, Boudhanath è una delle mete turistiche più imponenti di Kathmandu. Lo stupa di Boudhanath, alto 36 metri, è uno dei più grandi stupa dell'Asia meridionale. Con comunità religiose incalcolabili che lo comprendono, Boudhanath è il punto focale del buddismo tibetano in Nepal.
Dedicato al Signore Shiva, Pashupatinath è uno dei quattro siti religiosi più importanti dell'Asia per i devoti di Shiva. Costruito nel quinto secolo e in seguito ridisegnato dai governanti di Malla, si dice che il sito sia esistito dal primo punto di inizio dei mille anni in cui un lingam di Shiva fu trovato qui. Il più grande complesso di templi in Nepal, si estende sui due lati del fiume Bagmati che è considerato celeste dagli indù.

Highly recommended! We did this as an add on after Everest Base Camp. Dil our guide is extremely knowledgeable (Masters degree) and Som our driver was great in keeping us comfortable. Dil is amazing! We learned so many cultural and historical facts from him - he's passionate about his work and a great teacher!
We had Birodh as our guide for the entire day. He was a great guide and explained everything very well and was not afraid of answering questions. Would definitely recommend!

I had a layover en route to Bhutan, and this was a fabulous way to spend the day, in beautiful December sunshine. My guide Birodh really took his time at each site to explain the history and culture/customs, answered all of my questions, and gave me ample opportunity to take all of the photos I wanted. We also had a very pleasant stop for drinks and snacks overlooking the iconic Stupah, and included a bonus stop at the 'monkey temple' - plenty of time to watch the entertaining macaque families... A very worthwhile, highly recommended tour

The tour gave a great feel of the city of Kathmandu which is big in size, our tour guide was friendly and helpful to answer any questions I had, they made the first day in Kathmandu an enjoyable experience
I would recommend this operator as well as the tour guide Birodh. Always in touch with since the day before coordinating my pick up. How was on time. Very explicit on his teachings of the city, monuments history and more. Loved to had him as my guide.
Our guide Birodh was excellent. He was extremely knowledgeable and also very caring. He was intuitive enough to keep us (the group) safe throughout the tour. On the other hand, the tour itself ticked every box on my list. Nepal is beautiful. The temples and the peacefulness within the temples were much needed for me. So glad Birodh took me to the Pashupatinath temple and helped do a bit of prayer. That was the main highlight of the tour, for me. 100% recommended

Great day exploring the historical sites of Kathmandu, Birodh provide great details on the historical background of the Buddha’s, explain in great detail the culture of Nepal, and recommend a great restaurant for lunch. It was a busy day travelling throughout Kathmandu. Great company and highly recommend booking your day tour with them.
If you want to hit the four or five major Kathmandu heritage sights in one day, this is your tour! Exactly what we wanted and without the hassle of navigating public transportation. Birodh has extensive historical and religious knowledge that would satisfy even the most curious Hindu scholar! We got a great overview of the sights visited, but Birodh did an excellent job explaining some of the historical and religious connections among such a diverse and ancient civilization. Of course, the locations visited are of themselves a sensory overload of color, sounds, smells, and taste. Birodh took us to really cool places where there didn’t seem to be other tourists and that was an added benefit to the tour because it felt like we had a more unique experience, especially with the lunch. All in all, a great experience.
