Ti porteremo all'abbazia benedettina di Montecassino. Il secondo monastero più antico d'Italia, distrutto durante la seconda guerra mondiale. ricostruita e consacrata da papa Paolo VI nell'anno 1964. Poi il Monastero di San Benedetto. È uno dei luoghi spirituali più significativi per la Chiesa. Costruita quasi mille anni fa, ha il compito di custodire la grotta dove il giovane Benedetto da Norcia trascorse un periodo di vita eremitica, prima di dedicarsi alla vita cenobitica. Un'incredibile esperienza spirituale e artistica che non potrai dimenticare. Fondata nel 529 da San Benedetto da Norcia sul luogo di un'antica torre e di un tempio dedicato ad Apollo, posta a 516 metri sul livello del mare, ha subito nel corso della sua storia un'alternanza di distruzioni, saccheggi, terremoti e successivi ricostruzioni.
È uno dei cinque cimiteri di guerra presenti nel Cassinate, insieme a quello tedesco (in frazione Caira), italiano (a Mignano Monte Lungo), francese (a Venafro) e quello del Commonwealth (a Cassino).
Subiaco è un comune Italiano di 8 588 abitanti della città metropolitana di Roma Capitale nel Lazio. Qui i visitatori potranno degustare prodotti tipici locali

Our tour guide Maria-Teresa is the kindest, warmest, and most accommodating person I’ve met during my two months in Europe. She took her time to explain so many fascinating details about the Sanctuary in Subiaco and the Abbey at Monte Cassino. She introduced us to the most charming lunch spot where I had the best pasta and wine. She patiently waited while we picked out countless religious gifts for our families, and even helped us get them blessed. We were deeply moved to visit the tombs of St. Benedict and St. Scholastica and had the most sacred experience. Our driver, Alejandro, was equally wonderful—so attentive, professional, and skilled. He navigated the winding mountain roads safely and smoothly, allowing us to simply relax and take in the breathtaking views. Overall, today’s tour was truly unforgettable. It was spiritual, peaceful, and filled with grace. Thank you, Maria-Teresa and Alejandro, for making it one of the most meaningful days of our entire trip!

Maria Teresa (our guide) and Alessandro (our driver) were absolutely wonderful. Maria Teresa went above and beyond when she found out about my interest in St. Benedict and St. Scholastica, thoughtfully adjusting the schedule so we could visit the Monastery of St. Scholastica as well. She even spoke with the local Italian guide to ensure I received an English translation, which was incredibly helpful. The restaurant chosen for lunch was also a standout—I had the best cannelloni of my life! This tour is perfect for anyone interested in the Benedictine Order. Seeing the very birthplace of the order was a lifelong dream, and I can't thank Maria Teresa and Alessandro enough for making it such a memorable and meaningful experience.

Great trip to take when you have limited time. Pickup early at 7.00am ensured we missed the crowds. The guide Maria-Thersa was very professional. Luigi the driver had us to our destination on time. Felt like it was a day out with a couple of friends.

We had an excellent driver through all the crazy traffic and a sweet guide. Our main goal was to see Monte Cassino abbey and cemetery. Our guide was flexible enough that we could also see the museum at the cemetery. Finally, she organized a very elegant lunch for us.

This was my second tour with Italian Dreams - and it was as excellent as the first tour with them. Theresa and Claudio, our guide and our driver, were kind, conscientious, attentive, and helpful. Theresa was delightful as we made our way into the mountains heading up to Subiaco and then over to Monte Cassino. She helped make this tour memorable. Theresa was also very accommodating as sometimes walking is a bit difficult for me. Being able to visit both sites where St. Benedict lived was a highlight of my time in Italy and Theresa helped make this even more special.
