Le meteora sono state intitolate a S. Athanasios the Meteority, proprietario della Big Meteorou Church. Dal 1988, i monasteri di Meteora hanno una posizione nel catalogo dei monumenti del patrimonio mondiale dell'UNESCO. Costruita sulla cima delle rocce, in un livello che raggiunge i 400 metri, Meteora è considerata una delle più grandi creazioni della natura e uno dei monumenti più importanti dell'ortodossia. Oggi vengono utilizzati solo 7 dei monasteri storici, 6 dei quali sono aperti al pubblico, che sono: • Il monastero di Anapausa • Il monastero di Rusanu • Il monastero "Big Meteoro" • Il monastero di Varlaam • Il monastero di Agia Triada • Il monastero di Agios Stefanos

Itinerario
Verremo a prendervi dal vostro hotel a Calcidica alle 07.30 e seguiremo la strada verso Meteora, che impiegherà circa 3,5-4 ore prima di arrivare lì. Se vuoi, possiamo fare una breve sosta nella città di Trikala, per una pausa caffè vicino al fiume Litheos, e successivamente iniziamo a visitare i monasteri di Meteora. Questo meraviglioso tour sarà completato nei pittoreschi villaggi di Kalambaka o Kastraki, dove è possibile avere un pranzo tradizionale greco opzionale! Successivamente, torneremo a Calcidica. La durata di questo tour è di circa 10-12 ore in quanto Meteora dista circa 350 chilometri da Halkidiki. (A seconda del villaggio)

Dimitris is a great person to spend time with, very kind and knowledgeble person. The car was extremely comfortable and an unexpected bonus, we were treated with some fruits :) Definitely reccomend this to everyone, especially in company with Dimitris. We have visited 3 monastaries and had an amazing lunch in the restaurant nearby.
Dimitrios was the perfect guide - looked after us all day. Got us to all of the four monasteries we wanted to go to. Magical experience!

Absolutely awesome trip! Experience of the lifetime and we will go back there. Perfect weather and even rain didn’t make it worse but better as it was needed after visiting monasteries. Whole trip was possible thanks to professional and very nice driver Dimitris. Dimitris knew where to go. Knew how to get there and waited for us in perfect car and all Covid needed equipment. He made this trip superb in every detail. Great driving skills not only during dry but especially during waterfall from heaven on the way back! Meteora Monastery it’s most beautiful place I’ve ever been to and will be back for more..view from there it’s too awesome to capture by any camera. Made my holidays worth every penny! My husband and I had an excellent trip to Meteora with Prime Taxi! Our driver Dimitri was professional, friendly and had great local knowledge. He made sure our journey was as comfortable as possible and provided us with hand wipes, water, wine and fruit! He really went above and beyond. The drive to Meteora and back was long, but Dimitri made sure it was fun and showed us many beautiful landscapes along the way. Please note that this tour only includes a car & driver, not a tour guide. If you want a tour of the monasteries, you’ll have to organise these separately. I would 100% recommend the private tours with Prime Taxi.
We had a very nice day. Dimitris was in time, very good English, safe drive, very knowledgeable, couldn't do enough for us. Nice touch the wine and fruits and the good quality water.
