We booked this full-day tour to see a bit of everything, and it didn't disappoint. The dolphin watching portion was exciting, and we managed to get some great photos. Nungwi and Kendwa beaches are stunning—the white sand and turquoise water look like a postcard. Maldives whooo? The lunch was a nice inclusion and saved us the hassle of finding a spot on our own. It’s a long day, but well worth it to see the northern tip of the island properly. Great value for money and a highly recommended way to see the best of Zanzibar in one go.
The excursion to see the dolphins, the aquarium, Nungwi and Kendwa beaches was interesting in itself. But on the spot it was a disaster even ecological. Too many boats at the same time. My boat was Hit twice by other boats rushing to see the dolphins. The smell of oil and crude from motors permanently. It was very difficult to see the dolphin's back, let alone the dolphin. Qqn yelled "dauphine" and all the boats were heading towards the lane. Real nightmare!! The danger was in the air with people snorkeling who were sometimes Surrounded by boats. We moved to the other place for snorkeling where the situation was even more dramatic. The boats threw his inks. People snorkeling easily could mingle with ropes to jump on ink. No pictures. Time and money wasted! No profit from this tour party. 112e is too expensive not to see even a dolphin. It was the highlight of this excursion. The snorkeling equipment is unclear. You had to have your private at the had to be delivered by the boat? In this part of excursion only snorkeling was interesting, impressive to admire underwater life up close. This excursion can be organized differently for the benefit of all and without potential danger from snorkeling. The lunch, I quote the program "the breathtaking ocean view will enhance "every bite of your meal etc. "is a lie. There were sheltered tables on the beach but my guide said eating there "pays". I paid for this meal. Finally I had lunch but in the little gargot with the view sue a wall!!! What is the truth? The aquarium with turtles interesting looking down on them. Nungwi and Kendwa beaches deserve to see them, spend time by the ocean, swim etc In Nungwi the poison march is a joke. A table with fish. Displaying fish in the big box is more interesting than what Nungwi has to offer. Real walk I saw in Stone Town. The construction of the typical boat is also a joke. I saw a boat made and other under a tarpaulin without any explanation. These two visits were very miserable to understand how a part of life in Nungwi. Summarise: information on snorkeling equipment is not clear entrance - Mnemba Island does not exist because this island is private and not accessible information about young people in Muyuni, either where we really eat is not clear entrance to Nungwi and Kendwa beach - do not pay. They're free. I entered several livers on the beaches without paying anything. If the accessibility to see dolphins is not well ensured and knowing that they are not numerous it is useless to send the boats to this place and offer the price well high compared to what you can really see and experience.
Dear Ewa We take guest feedback seriously; however, we must firmly address several inaccurate and misleading statements in this review, as they do not reflect the reality of our services or how tourism operates in Zanzibar. First, regarding fees and payments: your claim that there are no entrance or conservation fees is incorrect. All dolphin and snorkeling activities in the Mnemba marine area operate under official marine conservation regulations. These conservation fees, along with the licensed boat, professional crew, fuel, safety equipment, snorkeling gear, and operational costs, are included in the tour price as clearly communicated. These are mandatory government-regulated fees that every licensed operator must pay. Suggesting that no payments exist is simply untrue. Second, we categorically reject the statement that you were charged again for lunch. Our company does not apply hidden or duplicate charges under any circumstances. Any optional extras are always explained in advance and agreed upon by the guest. Third, regarding dolphin sightings, dolphins are wild animals in their natural ocean environment. No ethical or licensed operator anywhere in the world can guarantee sightings or control their behavior. This is standard and clearly understood in marine tourism globally and on Tripadvisor. However, this area remains one of the most active dolphin zones in Zanzibar, and the majority of our guests have positive and memorable experiences, as reflected in our extensive history of satisfied customer reviews. Finally, safety and professionalism are our highest priorities. We operate only with experienced, licensed captains and comply fully with local laws and marine safety standards. We are proud of our honest work and our strong reputation built over many years. For this reason, we must respectfully state that several claims made in this review are inaccurate and do not represent the service delivered. We remain committed to providing transparent, professional, and high-quality experiences to all our guests visiting Zanzibar.
The snorkeling and lunch was good. The dolphin swimming is crazy dangerous for both dolphins and humans. MANY MANY boats all recklessly rush towards dolphins and people are jumping in and out of boats to swim with dolphins. I’m amazed no one was run over with a boat. I imagine many dolphins get hit by these reckless boats. Skip this one and stop torturing, endangering, and harming these beautiful creatures.
Dear Carol Thank you for joining our tour and for appreciating the snorkeling experience and lunch. We are truly sorry that the dolphin activity did not meet your expectations. At Wise Tour, the safety of our guests and the protection of marine life are our top priorities. Our team follows the official Zanzibar marine guidelines for dolphin watching — keeping a safe distance, avoiding sudden movements, and educating visitors about responsible tourism. Unfortunately, the dolphin area is open to all operators, and we share the ocean with many other boats. Even so, we always focus on eco-friendly practices to make sure guests enjoy the beauty of Zanzibar’s dolphins without stress to the animals. We appreciate your feedback as it helps us continue improving and promoting responsible tourism. We warmly welcome future travelers to join Wise Tour for an ethical, safe, and unforgettable Zanzibar experience — exploring our islands, reefs, and beaches with respect for nature and local culture.
This experience was amazing we did everything that was advertised and our tour guide jun did an amazing job he was very informative and a very fun and bubbly character to be around he made that much of a impact on us that we booked with him again we highly recommend to book tour with wise tour guide and book it with hun he’s a legend. Snorkelling was 10/10 beautiful beach with light blue water that is lovely and warm and the coral was full of fish so it made it a great experience Seeing the dolphin was a moment to remember you can swim with them if you like. Feeding the sea turtles was such a fun experience when the crowd you and tickle you is hilarious and really heartwarming. The food was nice and fresh really enjoyed it And we went to kendo’s beach at the end and that was beautiful they have water sports there so you can add more fun to the day if you like and entertainment 10/10 days for us
I highly recommend this tour. It was absolutely amazing from start to finish. We were lucky enough to have June as our tour guide and honestly, make sure you ask for him because he is the best. We had about a 70 percent chance of seeing dolphins and we were so lucky to spot them. It was such a beautiful and surreal experience. June shared so much fascinating history and information throughout the trip which made it even more special. Swimming with the turtles was incredible. The food was delicious and the beach we visited afterwards was stunning. The vibes were unmatched. We went for our honeymoon and it truly exceeded our expectations. I would recommend this experience to anyone visiting. It is something we will never forget. 🐬🐢🌴
We went with Hassan who was very knowledgeable and friendly. We got really close to the dolphins and saw lots of sealife around the corals whilst snorkeling.
I had the best time with Ramjun as my guide, wonderful tour with so much to see and do. You will be taken care of to the fullest. I was a solo traveller but felt as comfortable as can be as I knew I was in such good hands.
This was a really fun experience- it was amazing to see the dolphins so up close (even though I didn’t personally get an opportunity to swim with them). I also really enjoyed feeding the green turtles at the aquarium! The sunset at Kendwa Beach was a perfect end to the day.
I had a great experience With Hassan ,He's very professional ,he know how to make happy the customers ,after the dolphins where we had snacks aswell on the boat we had a great food in Matemwe ,the location is just Stunning ,then we were around in Nungwi and at the end don't miss The Sunset in kendwa is something that you won't forget I really raccomend to choose this Tour with Hassan.
This a very unforgettable experience. Hassan was very good as a tour guide and very knowledgeable too. Organised the tour with diligence and was very polite, friendly and patient. He made sure we were comfortable and made sure we got to swim with the dolphins. Paid attention to every detail, served us fresh fruit and a lovely lunch seafood platter. I would definitely recommend him to others. Only shart fall were the snokering gear on the boat we used. They were abit wornout. Otherwise him as a guide is very very good.
