Scopri un po' di storia da brivido e per certi versi anche raccapricciante dell'Islanda al Parco Nazionale di Thingvellir. È di così grande importanza che è stato nominato sito Patrimonio dell'Umanità dell'UNESCO. Potrai passeggiare sulle terre in cui ha avuto inizio la democrazia islandese e visitare i luoghi dove si svolgeva la giustizia dell'epoca vichinga, tra cui la Drowning Pool e la Gallows Rock. Thingvellir è anche il luogo dove due placche tettoniche si stanno gradualmente separando, creando un meraviglioso paesaggio di ripide scogliere e grandi distese, tra cui il Thingvallavatn, il più grande lago naturale dell'Islanda.
Il Grande Geysir, il primo con questo nome, risiede a Haukadalur nella zona geotermale di Geysir. L'intera area ribolle di attività geotermale, dagli sfiati di vapore alle pozze di fango in ebollizione, nonché le vere star dello spettacolo geotermale, i geyser. Tutti gli altri geyser, in tutto il mondo, prendono il nome da Geysir.

Ascoltare il rombo del fiume Hvita che precipita da due livelli nella gola sottostante per 32 metri è entusiasmante. Nei giorni di sole, nella nebbia che si alza dalle cascate abbondano gli arcobaleni e ci sono diversi sentieri disponibili intorno alla cascata, tra cui uno che conduce alla base, dotati perciò di impermeabile e tieni la fotocamera a portata di mano.

Super fun! Aleksander was an awesome guide, providing insights and stories about Iceland throughout all of the driving portions of the tour. We spent ample time at each stop, and had a chance to explore each spot on our own before returning to the bus. After the tour, we were able to get dropped off at a hostel near our Airbnb
Great tour overall but the guide had limited English and was hard to hear/understand.we passed some interesting sights and we wished he had stopped a couple of more times for photo opportunities.
Dr. G was very informative. It was a very enjoyable experience. The waterfalls were absolutely amazing.
This tour was good and our first from our cruise around Iceland so the guide told us a lot about the country and the way of life. The scenery was quite different being generally old volcanic lava flows. The first stop was all about the meeting of tectonic plates which was interesting, and then onto the Geyser area which was quite spectacular with an eruption every few minutes as well as bubbling hot pools. Then on to see the Gullfoss waterfall which was quite unique. The drive back to the ship was 90 minutes but the scenery was interesting and different to what we are used to with all the volcanic landscapes
Make sure you dress warm and expect strong winds. Our Guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining.
This tour is a great way to see some of Iceland's wonders. Steinunn was a fun and very knowledgable guide and Eirikur drove us safely and comfortably.
We met our bus in the parking lot of the port…there were many buses and it was hard finding the right bus. Once we found our bus they took us to bus terminal..we changed buses and from then on it was a great trip! Very informative and beautiful!!
The Golden Circle in Reykjavik for our last day of cruise is enormous and well worth it. We went to Gullfoss Waterfall, The Haukadalur for the geothermal area to watched bubbling geysers. The geysers blown up only seconds so keep your eyes on or you'll miss it and wait for another 5-10 minutes. Lastly we visited the Pingvellir National Park for the UNESCO World Heritage Site where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates drift apart. It's amazing that the gap is so huge that some area can be scuba dive/ snorkel in the crystal clear silfra fissure. The experience for witness these amazing site is overwhelming. It's a wonderful 6 hour trip in 1 cruise day. We booked the cruise port pick up/ drop off at the port. But we decide to stop somewhere at the downtown area to visit few more places such as The Rainbow Street, The Viking Sculpture, The Music Hall and the famous Hallgrimskirkja Church. We took the taxi in front of the Music Hall but cost $ 35.00, the distant to the cruise is only 15 minutes walk. I want to mention about the pick up service when the tour starts at the port. Because the direction for the pick up wasn't really clear, we were panic for 30 minutes because we can't find our bus while we step out of the cruise ship, we saw lots of taxi and shuttle buses but can't find ours, I call the emergency phone # and the guy who pick up the phone told me to go to the parking lot instead of in front of the cruise ship. We went to the parking lot, there were quite of few shuttle busses but still, we can't find ours even though we have to look for the clear sign on the bus. Our pick up time was 7:30 but we wait nervously until 7.55am, the bus finally came and the bus filled up full at our stop. This is 1 thing i want to complain, because for the 30 minutes, no one can answer our questions and we felt helpless. Overall, I like the tour very much and the guide Hoskuldur is very nice and professional and friendly. I highly recommend this tour,
