La Grande Biblioteca di Alessandria fu fondata nel III secolo a.C., poco dopo la fondazione della città come nuova capitale dell'Egitto da parte di Alessandro Magno. È considerato uno dei più grandi successi nell'eredità dell'antica Alessandria poiché la biblioteca e il Mouseion, la più grande istituzione di apprendimento di cui faceva parte la biblioteca, hanno il merito di preservare la maggior parte della conoscenza del mondo antico.
Il teatro romano è stata una scoperta molto importante nel XX secolo. È stato dimostrato che il teatro fu costruito a partire dal IV secolo d.C. e fu utilizzato fino al VII secolo passando dall'epoca romana, bizantina e islamica.
Montazah Palace è immerso in ampi giardini e si affaccia su un tratto di costa veramente bello. Costruito all'inizio del XX secolo da Khedive Abbas II, parente del re Farouk, il palazzo mescola architettura turca e fiorentina: la torre centrale è stata ispirata da Palazzo Vecchio a Firenze.

Questa singola colonna che si erge su una collina rocciosa nel mezzo di Alessandria non ha nulla a che fare con il console romano e generale Gaio Pompeo, rivale di Giulio Cesare in una guerra civile e ucciso da un faraone tolomaico nel 48 a.C. quando fuggì ad Alessandria.
Qaitbay Fort Alexandria è una delle roccaforti difensive più importanti. Non è solo in Egitto. ma anche lungo la costa del Mar Mediterraneo.
Il museo si compone di 3 livelli - il piano interrato che ospita i manufatti faraonici, il piano terra che espone i tesori greco-romani e il 1° piano - contenente le reliquie dell'eredità copta cristiana e islamica dell'Egitto, nonché alcune informazioni sugli oggetti di valore lasciati da La famiglia di re Farouk prima della rivoluzione del 1952.

Absolutely fantastic tour! Naelah was extremely knowledgeable, funny, and very kind. Went to the serrapeum, catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, roman ampithetre and bibliotheca Alexandrina. All we amazing and highlight by Naelahs knowledge and recounting of history. 100% would recommend and do again!

We had a lovely and relaxing shore excursion with Maha in Alexandria. Maha was very striving and flexible in the design of the day and gave us nice insights to the main sights (catacombs and Biblioteca Alexandrina ..) but also to local markets, shops and mosques. Her German was excellent. We had chosen this agency especially as it was the only one on Viator that offered individual excursions in German. A very successful day

The experience when you have a wonderful guide is much better than when you try to do it yourself or have a “not so good” guide. Mohammed was wonderful, informative and very enthusiastic. We learned a lot in the museum in Giza and all the other places he took us during our two days in Alexandria. Thank you so much for a great time!
