Tour di un giorno a Spitzkoppe da Walvis Bay

Iniziamo il viaggio venendo a prendervi al vostro alloggio, viaggiamo oltre Long Beach e Swakopmund .Vedremo il naufragio della nave Zeila tra Swakopmund e Henties Bay. Andremo a Spitzkoppe. Dove vedremo e saliremo il Cervino della Namibia. La Namibia ha ampi spazi aperti, cieli limpidi, migliaia di foche, splendide formazioni rocciose, dipinti secolari di boscimani e piante desertiche uniche. Da non perdere in Namibia!

Superiamo Wlotskasbaken uscendo da Walvis Bay attraverso Swakopmund e discutiamo di questo insediamento unico Passiamo anche vicino al nuovo impianto di desalinizzazione che fornisce acqua alle miniere di uranio e a Swakopmund
Attraversiamo la baia di Henties e facciamo rifornimento per il nostro lungo viaggio. Questa è una città di vacanza locale
Ritorniamo alla baia di Henties e svoltiamo nel deserto del Namib in direzione dello Spitzkoppe. Oltrepassiamo alcune bancarelle locali che vendono cristalli di rocca e osserviamo gli affascinanti dipinti boscimani e le incisioni rupestri. Saliamo sull'Arco di Roccia e osserviamo le bellissime formazioni rocciose dolomitiche circostanti. Spitzkoppe è il Cervino della Namibia, un Inselberg e una bellissima formazione rocciosa di granito con un'altezza di 1638 m. Dopo un piccolo pranzo torniamo a Swakopmund
Dopo un lungo viaggio passiamo da Swakopmund tornando a Walvis Bay.
Sulla strada per Henties Bay ci fermiamo al relitto di Zeila, che si trova in mezzo all'oceano proprio tra Henties Bay e Swakopmund.

My brother and I were able to book a short notice tour from Swakopmund. The team communicated to confirm very quickly on WhatsApp which was appreciated. Our guide Riaan was excellent. He took us around for the day sharing stories of the Spitzkoppe and of Namibia. He made the experience very interesting and enjoyable.

We had a fantastic day tour with our guide, Riaan. From start to finish, the experience was unforgettable. We visited a wide range of incredible attractions, including the shipwreck, Spitzkoppe, Moon Valley, and the fascinating Welwitschia plains. Riaan was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the entire journey engaging and enjoyable. His insights added real depth to each stop, and the day was well-paced with plenty of opportunities to take in the scenery and take photos. Overall, this was an exceptional tour and highly recommended for anyone wanting to explore the highlights of the region in a single day.

The tour to Spitzkoppe was the highlight of our visit to Swakopmund. The stop at the lichen fields, the largest in the world, was the first special experience. Standing in that vast expanse was awe inspiring! We travelled through beautiful, golden grassland on the way to Spitzkoppe. Spitzkoppe itself is a magnificent, magical place. We had a good number of hours there, lunching in a shady spot, climbing the Arch and visiting the rock paintings. The feel of being on and amongst those ancient rocks with their unique texture and fascinating shapes is incredible. Our quirky guide, Stephanie, was professional and good company. He was accompanied by two colleagues, Andrew, 'the co-pilot' and Volker, 'the silent, but reassuring, presence in the back'. We enjoyed sharing the day with the three of them and had many laughs.

The journey takes a little longer (about 1 1/2 hours) but you see a lot on the way, learn a lot of interesting facts and Spitzkoppe is very, beautiful and you can climb up a little if you want. Thank you Hannes!
