Itinerario
Palazzo Ak Saray (Palazzo Bianco). Le dimensioni dell'edificio si possono intuire osservando le torri della porta: le due torri erano alte 50 m ed avevano un arco con luce di 22 m. Gli edifici furono distrutti nel XVI sec. per ordine del sovrano di Bukhara, Abdullah Khan.
Nel 1435, di fronte al mausoleo di Kulyal e sullo stesso asse, fu costruita la moschea Kok-Gumbaz (la “Cupola Blu”). L'iscrizione sul portale dice della sua costruzione da parte di Ulugbek per conto di suo padre Shah Rukh. Ha svolto il ruolo della Moschea Juma, cioè la Moschea della Cattedrale del Venerdì di Shahrisabz.
La creazione di un complesso architettonico, la madrasa Dorut-Tilavat, risale principalmente al regno di Ulugbek. Innanzitutto, sopra la tomba di Sheikh Kul, sui resti di alcuni edifici precedenti, fu eretto un mausoleo a cupola. Passeggia e scatta splendide foto con la gigantesca cupola blu sopra la moschea del venerdì e gli archi intricati.
Qui incontrerai molta gente del posto, e in particolare feste di matrimonio. Si trova nel centro di un parco appena costruito con vegetazione e fiori e puoi prendere un fantastico gelato in una delle "chayhanas" (tradizionale casa da tè) lì con colonne in legno intagliato.

I booked this trip for my friends, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. The team at the travel agency was incredibly professional, detail-oriented, and genuinely kind. Really well organised trip. My guide Mehrojbek was quite knowledge about the region. More than the trip I really enjoyed having lunch with him and understanding how young Uzbek’s view the country as it currently stands. If you are looking to understand the history of Uzbekistan and its current state, I would highly recommend this trip!

Great experience, thanks for arranging this. Ride was good and driver dropped us at the location and picked us up after a couple of hours. We explored the locations.

The driver was very punctual and picked me up on time directly from my hotel in the morning. We set off and stopped at a few scenic spots along the way. Met me the guide at Shahrisabz, who had a wealth of knowledge about each site. After an hour and a half we met again with the driver at the exit and set off for lunch at a local spot. The driver dropped my off at Samarkand train station by 13:30. Overall this is a good trip if you have an extra day in Samarkand and best for seeing life outside the Samarkand city center and visiting the sites in Shahrisabz. The sites at Shahrisabz are all centrally located and there is little information posted so I really recommend getting the guide to make the trip worthwhile.

If you have days to spare, it is a good short day trip going through the mountain pass to Shahrisabz. We booked a last minute trip with Travel Bliss via TripAdvisor, I like that on the website they let you choose the departure time and option of with or without a guide whereas with other operators you can't customize on the reservation page. The driver was punctual and nice, we were able to communicate with translator app. He picked a nice kebab restaurant for lunch. All the sites are within one big park so you don't really need a guide. We recommend Travel Bliss, good communications and follow up on our trip.

Very interesting excursion that allows to see something other than the city, nice route crossing a pass, and impressive remains of the palace of Timur, as well as several mausoleum and mosque.
