When you visit this area, THIS is the tour operator (Alberta Blue Sky) you MUST travel with! Duncan our tour guide was worth the experience alone. He was very welcoming when picking us up from our hotel, not the forced type of, 'this is my job', but kind and welcoming throughout the whole day tour. His knowledge was unbelievable, answering questions about the area today, recent history and history from the foundations of where we visited. Thank you Duncan for your warmth and care for the tour. Everywhere we went he took photos of my wife and I and helped create beautiful memories. The places we visited were breathtaking with their views. The ease of travel was exceptional too with the smaller size tour bus. Thank you too for taking us to see the mountain goats and the best view of Banff from above. A++++
Alberta Sky Tours helped make our visit to Canada the most memorable trip our family has ever taken. Our tour guide Duncan picked up our group of six, including one wheelchair user, in a comfortable van and shared his extensive knowledge of the area and the history of the region. Duncan pointed out wildlife and transported our group to all of the geographical highlights of the Lake Louise and Banff areas. Duncan made this tour a highly personal experience. Duncan was sure to answer any of our questions and if he did not immediately know the answer, he would research it. Duncan was enthusiastic and professional. We are grateful that Duncan was our guide for our two days in the area!
We loved having Jake as our guide. He took us from Banff to Jasper and knew all the cool fabulous places to stop for pictures and special places. We caught videos of trains in the S curve near Athabasca falls and one doing the upper and lower tunnels. He knew the answers to all our questions and was just a delight. From the Banff gondola to the wildlife, Icefields and waterfalls, he was great as a guide.
We were fortunate enough to spend three days touring Jasper National Park, Lake Louise, Banff and all the incredible places in between with Delano Paquin-Mannington, before boarding the Rocky Mountaineer, and we couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide. Del was exceptionally generous with his time and knowledge, sharing fascinating insights about the local area, its history, wildlife, flora, trees and natural environment. His passion for the region was evident throughout the trip and added so much depth to every stop we made. He took us to numerous beautiful locations, each offering stunning colours, spectacular scenery and truly inspiring views. One of the absolute highlights was seeing a black bear and her three cubs – an unforgettable experience that we will treasure forever. What made Del particularly special was his ability to balance professionalism with a relaxed and friendly approach. He was thoughtful and considerate towards all six members of our group, ensuring everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves. He was also funny, charming and great company, making every day both enjoyable and memorable. We were belatedly celebrating our nephew’s birthday, and Del played a huge part in making it feel like a truly special occasion. His sense of fun, attention to detail and genuine care helped create memories that will stay with us always. Del completely made our trip. We cannot thank him enough for three wonderful days and would recommend him without hesitation to anyone looking for an exceptional guide in the Jasper, Lake Louise and Banff area.
Jake is a knowledgeable and considerate guide. He showed us many beautiful sites!
Thank you for your kind review. We're glad you had a wonderful day exploring the Rockies with Jake. We'll be sure to pass along your comments to him; he'll appreciate hearing that his knowledge and care helped make your experience memorable. We hope to welcome you back again on a future visit!
We spent several days in Kamloops, Jasper, and Banff on tours arranged for Alberta Blue Sky Tours. We spent the time with their guides Jake and Duncan, and I can’t heap enough praise on them for the knowledge of that part of Canada. They knew the history, geology, flora, fauna, native people and even provided excellent recommendations for dining. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone visiting the area and desiring to maximize their experience.
One of the best compliments a guide can receive is when guests leave feeling they understand a place, not just that they've seen it. Thank you for your kind words about Jake and Duncan. The Canadian Rockies have so many stories to tell, from the landscape itself to the wildlife, history, and people who have called this region home, and we're glad they helped bring those stories to life during your journey. We're also happy to hear their recommendations extended beyond the tour itself. Sometimes finding a great local restaurant can be just as memorable as finding the perfect viewpoint. Thank you for travelling with us through Kamloops, Jasper, and Banff. We truly appreciate your recommendation and are grateful that we could be part of your Canadian adventure.
Very good tour, with clear explanations and good driving. Showed us everything in perfect manner. The timing of the tour was perfect.
Sometimes it's the simple things that make a tour truly enjoyable: good planning, good pacing, and a guide who helps you make the most of every stop. We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed the day and found the timing well balanced throughout the tour. Lake Louise and Moraine Lake deserve to be experienced without feeling rushed, and our goal is always to give guests enough time to take in the scenery while keeping the day running smoothly. Thank you for joining us and for taking the time to share your feedback. We hope you left with some great memories of the Rockies and enjoyed every moment of your visit.
The best way to see the Banff area. We spent the past two days with Duncan touring the Banff area and points West. Beyond the fact that Duncan has an encyclopedic knowledge of this area, and all of Western Canada, the scenery is spectacular, and he knows all the best spots for pictures. I highly recommend Alberta Blue, and their guides.
Two days in the Rockies can go by quickly, so we're happy to hear you were able to make the most of your time with Duncan. Knowing where to stop is just as important as knowing what you're looking at, and Duncan takes pride in helping guests discover both the famous views and the best photo opportunities along the way. We'll be sure to share your kind words with him. Thank you for your recommendation and for choosing Alberta Blue Sky Tours. We hope your photos bring back great memories of your time in Banff and the Canadian Rockies.
In praise of Alberta Blue Sky Tours: We traveled with Blue Sky for 4 days following our Rocky Mountaineer trip last month. Everyone we dealt with was so friendly and helpful! As we watched other groups disembarking their large coach buses, we were so grateful that we had chosen the small group size (8-10 people) and individualized tours we received with Blue Sky. It was wonderful to have our guide tailor our tour stops and narration according to the composition and interests of the group he had each day. We would not have experienced that on a coach bus. Kudos to Blue Sky! In praise of our Blue Sky tour guide—Delano (Del): There aren’t enough stars to rate our experiences with Del!!! He was very knowledgeable about everything he showed us, but never sounded like he was just reciting some facts. He was very personable, and a great joy to travel with. He clearly went out of his way to learn about each of us in the group and the things that interested us—so that he could then connect us with facts and stories along the way. He paid attention to each person’s needs and limitations and accommodated at each stop accordingly. Those who wanted time for exploring got that, and those of us who needed a more gentle experience got lots of focused attention from Del. He made the whole experience FUN!!! What an asset to Alberta Blue Sky!!!
Reviews like yours remind us why we chose small-group touring in the first place. Having the flexibility to adapt the day to the people in the vehicle creates a completely different experience than travelling on a large coach, and we're so pleased that this stood out during your time with us. Your description of Delano perfectly captures what makes him such a valued member of our team. Sharing information is one thing; taking the time to get to know guests, understand their interests, and make everyone feel included is something special. We will make sure he sees your comments; they will mean a great deal to him. Thank you for spending your vacation with us after your Rocky Mountaineer journey. It was a pleasure being part of your Canadian Rockies adventure, and we truly appreciate your generous recommendation.
Our experience was absolutely amazing. Delano was a great tour guide. He kept us informed as we traveled throughout the day and even adjusted the route a bit to avoid the rain. The sights were beautiful and we would highly recommend!
Sometimes a small change in plans can make a big difference, and we're glad Delano was able to stay one step ahead of the weather so you could make the most of your day. The mountains don't always follow the forecast, so having a guide who can adapt along the way is a real advantage. It's great to hear that you enjoyed both the scenery and the journey between the stops. Thank you for joining us at Lake Louise and Moraine Lake and for taking the time to leave a recommendation. We hope the photos and the memories bring you back to the Rockies again someday.
