Il Tempio Tōdai-ji, situato a Nara, è uno dei templi buddisti più importanti e storici del Giappone. Fondata nell'VIII secolo durante il periodo Nara, è famosa per ospitare il Grande Buddha (Daibutsu), una massiccia statua in bronzo del Buddha Vairocana e una delle più grandi statue di Buddha in bronzo al mondo.
Nara Park è un grande e bellissimo parco pubblico situato nel cuore di Nara ed è famoso per i suoi simpatici cervi che vagano liberi. Questi cervi sono considerati messaggeri sacri degli dei nella credenza shintoista e hanno vissuto qui per oltre mille anni.
Kiyomizu-dera è uno dei templi più iconici di Kyoto, arroccato su una collina con ampie viste sulla città. Fondata nel 778, è famosa per il suo grande palcoscenico in legno che sporge dalla sala principale, sorretto da centinaia di pilastri in legno, costruito senza l'uso di chiodi. We had the misfortune of coming on a very hot day so that colored our experience. This was our own fault for planning a trip in July. The sites are really amazing, the driver was communicative and did a good job getting us from point a to be in a timely fashion and adapted to our needs. On our tour, we went to two temples in Kyoto and the bamboo forest and then hit the deer park in Nara on the way back. The sites were amazing and this tour is a great way to get a lot of sites covered in an efficient way. The best part was having an air-conditioned ride from site to site and not having to deal with public transit in this heat wave. The driver was helpful and polite. He answered a lot of our questions and was on time at all of the pick ups. He was definitely more of a driver than a classic tour guide so there was not a lot of Japanese history and culture in this tour. It was more left up to us to inform our ourselves. This is definitely worth your while if you want to see a variety of sites in a short amount of time.
Do not book this "tour". It is nothing more than an overpriced car service. Our "guide" was a Pakistani man who does not like Japan and is just doing this a a side job. He would drive to a location, give us a 5 minute little speech (some wasn't even accurate) and tell us to text when we're done. He drove recklessly and while using his phone. We ended up taking the train on our own back to the hotel rather than return to Osaka with him. We could have saved a fortune by just taking a train, or even a taxi, and could have Googled the information on the way. This was by far the worst tour we experienced throughout our time in Japan. I believe the Viator listing is (unless it has since been updated) is very deceptive. Other listings clearly state that they are a car service with information provided between sites. This listing gave an impression that you are getting a private guided tour along the itinerary route and a car. You are not! This was strictly a car service with a few quick bits of information thrown in by someone that could not care less about Japan, the Japanese or the culture. I absolutely DO NOT recommend this tour and believe the listing should be removed from Viator.

The driver’s behavior was unacceptable, and we have already taken action by removing and firing the driver from our team. We get to go to all the places listed The driver was just a driver no tour guide He drop us off and then we contacted him to pick us up but we had to wait for him at least 15-20 min every time Not sure here he went If you just want someone to drive you around then this is for you If you want a guide to come with you don’t do this your It was expensive just to drive us around The tour was supposed to last 8 hours it lasted 5

The van tour overall was great, Haider did a great job at planning and managing the day, accommodating to our needs as we travelled with small kids (ages 4 and 7), and adjusted the tour based on our priorities and time constraints. He was knowledgeable about the spots and gave quick explanations as we walked. We were able to see everything we really wanted to see, which was a lot in one day! Haider was super patient and kind, even with our littlest one, who had a ton of questions lol. They provided a car seat for the 4 year old which was great! One thing was that he didn’t point out that the car seat was not completely installed, so we had to do that on the fly after the carseat slipped once. As the parent I should have checked at the beginning, but I missed it in the hubbub of trying to figure out the chest buckle. Anyways, all in all a great day getting to see key places in and between Nara and Kyoto.

Excellent way to see the important locations in Kyoto and Nara. This trip allows you to see a lot in a short period of time. Pick up from your hotel and drop off is very convenient. Great value for 10 hours. Our driver was Hamza. He did a great job getting us around to the spots and picking us up. More of a driver than a guide.

This was a great day with our driver Sam who was very accommodating to change the itinerary to suit our needs. His communication was very good sharing his knowledge of the various sites that we wanted to see. He was always checking that we were comfortable on the drive and at each site.
