Nel nostro viaggio, vedremo il paesaggio del Messico centrale. Prima di arrivare a San Miguel, ci fermeremo in modo da poter scattare foto panoramiche di San Miguel de Allende. Una volta a San Miguel de Allende, avremo un'ora e mezza di tour guidato dove conosceremo le principali attrazioni della città come la parrocchia simbolica di San Miguel Arcángel, il giardino, la cappella di Jimmy Ray, l'ispanico americano Accademia, il Tempio di San Francisco, la Casa de Allende e la Civic Plaza. Visiteremo il mercato dell'artigianato, dove è possibile acquistare prodotti artigianali tipici, elaborati principalmente con cartapesta, metalli, vetro soffiato.
Questo è il posto perfetto per scattare la tua prossima foto preferita. L'incredibile vista permette di riconoscere la Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel e la cupola e la torre del Templo de San Francisco.

La Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel è una chiesa neogotica del XVII secolo famosa per le sue alte guglie rosa e il maestoso santuario decorato.
Fu in questa casa che nacque e crebbe Ignacio Allende, uno degli eroi più famosi dell'indipendenza del Messico. Alla fine del 1810 la casa fu confiscata dal governo vicereale; mesi prima, da lì partiva il primo esercito ribelle per la sua prima battaglia formale.
Classificare lo stile architettonico della chiesa di San Francisco è una vera sfida. Un esperto dice che la sua facciata è barocca, un altro puro Churrigueresque, ancora un altro rococò e un'altra credenza che sia una combinazione di tutti loro. In ogni caso, la facciata che si affaccia sulla piazzetta di San Francisco presenta minuziose opere di cava, riccamente abbellite.
Originariamente costruita nel 1555, questa piazza era il centro dell'attività della popolazione, era a suo tempo mercato e luogo di ritrovo. Oggi la statua di Ignacio Allende è la protagonista della piazza.
Parco tranquillo con fiori dai colori vivaci, sentieri tortuosi, panchine ombreggiate e un parco giochi.
Un colorato mercato dell'artigianato, con bancarelle di scialli ricamati a mano, ceramiche decorative e gioielli in argento.

The good: San Miguel de Allende is an amazingly charming town and almost a must see. The OK: the tour and guide were pretty decent and covered key highlights of the colonial town. But being in 2 languages made this a bit clunky, but guide seemed to manage well. Not so good: the tour was cancelled on its originally scheduled date and operator reached out to me to see if I can move it out or we wanted a refund. This did mess up our plans a bit but we had no choice. I know they will say they had no choice but the best would make things work. Overall a 3 star. I am sure there are better tours to San Miguel but this is not too bad either

The tour started late and finished late which caused me issues with another booking i had. The guide Alvaro was very good though, he did the tour in English and Spanish. Our driver also very good, trying to get us back as early as possible. The tour of San Miguel was quite good, but it is quite a hike to walk down many stairs to the township, a few things like a park and shops to see on the way down, also great views. Given we got back so late, i thought our free time was too long and could easily be shortened, still giving enough time for lunch and visiting the many markets.

Great tour! But long travel time almost 4 hours per way. Then we only had 4 hours in the town. Quite short because so many things to see and do. We also had to walk from bus and take taxi back to avoid walking back and save time
Try to get Javier as your guide because he is very knowledgeable about the city, its landmarks, history, and culture. He also made sure every passenger had a great experience and was patient/accommodating for passengers who couldn't get breakfast so they could pull out cash. The tour itself does go by quick before its time to leave, so its a good way to feel out and get a taste if you want to stay more time in SMA. Thats what we did and ended up staying the night in SMA (not part of the tour but Javier and Viator made the process seamless).
Be warned!!! We were cancelled by the tour company 12 hours prior to the tour leaving your plan shattered with the reason cited “logistic issue”. If you don’t want your holiday be ruined, book elsewhere.

It was not worth spending time and money for seeing this place. Guide was sleeping while going in van. Church was closed. Nor a good tour.

The tour was awesome. San Miguel is a beautiful town and a great place to visit.
Took a day trip from Mexico City to San Miguel de Allende and overall it was a great experience. The town is beautiful, especially the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel. Special thanks to our guides Ara, Javier, and Pedro, who were knowledgeable and kept everything running smoothly. The only drawback is the long travel time and limited hours in San Miguel—it felt a bit rushed. Still, a good option if you’re short on time.
