Ci fermiamo nella bellissima cittadina di Te Anau per una pausa prolungata di 30 minuti. Ci fermiamo in un caffè sul lungolago in modo da poter prendere un caffè / spuntino, usare il bagno ed esplorare lo splendido lungolago con vista sulle montagne.
Eglinton Valley offre uno straordinario contrasto di verdi montagne ricoperte di cespugli nativi, sullo sfondo di campi abbronzati. Gli ospiti avranno la possibilità di esplorare i lunghi campi lussureggianti. Bellissima in qualsiasi periodo dell'anno.
Questa breve passeggiata naturalistica di 2 minuti su sentieri e passerelle ben formati ti condurrà ai tranquilli Mirror Lakes, sullo sfondo delle Earl Mountains alle loro spalle. Questa è una sfida per qualsiasi fotografo in viaggio per catturare l'essenza dei laghi - il loro riflesso speculare.
Ci fermiamo ulteriormente nella valle di Eglinton al Knobs Flat Camp per utilizzare i bagni. Questa fermata è di circa 60 minuti da Te Anau, la nostra precedente pausa bagno.
Ci fermiamo all'Hollyford Lookout, seduto in alto sopra la Hollyford Valley. Qui potrete apprezzare i ghiacciai che hanno scavato queste valli. Un'opportunità fotografica e la possibilità di sgranchirsi le gambe.
Monkey Creek è una bellissima cascata / torrente alimentato dal ghiacciaio ed è un'area comune per incontrare il Kea, un pappagallo di montagna che si trova solo nell'Isola del Sud della Nuova Zelanda. Questa è l'occasione per scattare una foto ravvicinata di questi uccelli sfacciati.
Ci fermiamo appena fuori dal tunnel di Homer sul lato occidentale, con vista sulla magnifica valle di Cleddau. Circondato da pareti verticali di montagne a gradoni, guarderete giù per la valle fino al nostro percorso nel Milford Sound. Uno dei momenti salienti della giornata.
La nostra destinazione per il tour è il bellissimo Milford Sound, un sito patrimonio mondiale dell'UNESCO. Trascorriamo 2,5 ore a Milford Sound, principalmente a bordo della tua crociera naturalistica dove sperimenterai l'intero fiordo, incontri con la fauna selvatica, cascate e tutta la bellezza paesaggistica che c'è da vedere.
Torniamo a Queenstown, passando per la township di Te Anau (l'unica via di ritorno) e ci fermiamo in modo da poter prendere del cibo per cena e usare il bagno.

Tommy was our tour guide on our first-ever trip with Luxe Tours from Queenstown to Milford Sound, and he made the whole experience unforgettable. The tour was absolutely worth the cost, and we’d love to do it again in the future. Tommy was friendly, approachable, and made the day feel relaxed from start to finish. Although it was a long day, we never felt bored or exhausted - it has been one of my highlight trips of all time. Tommy took heaps of photos for our group, shared great knowledge and stories about Milford Sound and the stops along the way, and even gave us some awesome local recommendations for our return back to Queenstown. The bus was super comfortable with plenty of leg room, and we appreciated being able to relax and even get some sleep on the drive back to Queenstown. One of the best parts was the small group size — only six people — which made the experience feel much more personal compared to the larger tour buses around. We highly recommend Luxe Tours to anyone visiting Queenstown and wanting to experience Milford Sound. Amazing service, comfort, and overall experience - we’d definitely book again.

having less people compared to a tour buses meant the entire experience was very comfortable (we had time to truly enjoy each site and take photos without being rushed etc). the whole day just felt comfortablr and well organised. the guide tommy was also very friendly and his commentary about the sites etc the entire day while driving was genuinely so interesting and informative. would highly recommend

We recently did this tour from Queenstown to Milford Sound and had an absolutely fantastic experience! The scenery was incredible, but the real highlight of the trip was our tour guide, Adrian. Adrian, was friendly, highly informative, funny, and just an all-round legend. He made the whole journey enjoyable from start to finish and really added so much to the experience with his knowledge and personality. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does. The smaller sized group made it possible to stop at different locations along the way which made it much more personal. We highly recommend this tour, you will not be disappointed.

OMG! Where do I start? First of all to apologise it’s taken me so long to write a review - certainly not because the service wasn’t amazing!! I cannot praise and thank Adrian enough. There is nothing I can write to describe how amazing our trip to Milford sound really was; one of the best days and our favourite part of our trip to NZ. And that was all thanks to Adrian. We couldn’t have been luckier to have such a lovely, kind, thoughtful, funny, entertaining and truly wonderful guide. Adrian went above and beyond for us - with the entertaining and informative info and stories he had, the way he checked in with us to see if we were enjoying ourselves or if we needed anything, the way he never once complained about being asked to take a thousand photos for me, and the way he just made our tour absolutely amazing. It snowed on our trip and I have to praise him also for his careful and responsible driving - we felt extremely safe with him. It was such a long day, but we didn’t want it to end and would have been very happy to stay on the bus for longer 😊 Honestly, this day made our NZ trip amazing. I’m so happy I chose to go with Luxe tours. I loved the way they seemed to genuinely care about the place and their customers, and I was so right! What an amazing day touring Milford Sound! The scenery was absolutely breathtaking - stunning mountains everywhere you looked, beautiful waterfalls cascading down the cliffs, and views that felt like something out of a movie. What a wonderful experience! All starts with our awesome driver/guide, Tommy. Very knowledgeable and friendly person. He took care of every detail and made sure we were always save and comfortable. The road trip portion is full of incredible sites and navigating across the fiord is as magic and it Sounds. I would take this tour again without hesitation.
