I had an incredibly meaningful and eye-opening experience visiting Langa Township. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip and offered such an authentic look into the heart and culture of the community. Our guide was absolutely amazing—knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely passionate about sharing the history, resilience, and spirit of Langa. They answered every question with care and provided deep insight into both the challenges and the strength of the people who live there. What stood out most was the warmth and welcoming nature of the community. Despite the history and hardships, there is such a strong sense of pride, culture, and unity. It was inspiring to witness firsthand. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Cape Town who wants to go beyond the typical tourist experience and truly connect with the local culture. It was respectful, informative, and something I will never forget.
I learned so much, met great residents, myth-busted media coverage of Cape Town townships. District Six museum is a must for understanding apartheid.
Great experience. My guide driver and the guide in Langa introduced me to this Township and the life there. This experience was very enriching and rich in explanations concerning the historical past and the consequences and evolution since the end of apartheid.
This was an excellent tour. We learned so much and it is an important part of the city and the history. I strongly recommend it. Went with my husband and 15 and 17 year old kids.
Wonderful experience to see another perspective and lifestyle of Cape Town and its history. Highly recommended to anyone and everyone because it brings together the reality of the city and the communities within. Vuyo is fantastic - knowledgeable, accommodating, and personable. He made the experience better for my moms.
Excellent and professional service from the moment we were collected from our hotel. The driver /guide Vuyo and township guide Mizo very personable, affable & knowledgeable. It was a pleasure getting to see Langa in the walk about & meet the local residents, the children at a little kindergarten as well as seeing the district 6 museum and memorials in Gugulethu. I especially loved how various buildings were beautified with some excellent graffiti art & the local art gallery. Highly recommended tour.
This was such an amazing experience. It was an afternoon trip and first off our driver/guide took us to the District Six museum. Our guide explained some of the exhibits and had great knowledge of the group areas act and how this impacted the people involved. He then gave us some time to look around on our own. We were then taken to Langa township. We were given lots of history on the way about the passing landmarks and history of Capetown. When we arrived at Langa we were passed to a second guide who took us around, introducing us to the people that live there and explaining the housing system and the ways the community come together to support each other. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this tour to everyone that visits Cape Town. It’s very easy to pass these townships from the highway and make a judgement. The tour give you real insight into the positivity that thrives in the area and the strength and resilience of the people living there.
Really interesting and informative trip with our guide Hamilton. Great insight into life in the township. While we were happy to overpay for some of the “local crafts“ these are the same crafts available throughout Capetown.
Hamlet our driver was brilliant. He explained the history of apartheid. This was extended when we visited the museum in Cape Town. The trip around the township was very sobering and the people and children were amazing, Thank you Hamlet and the guide that day in the township. Well worth a visit.
This was my best experience here so far. You really have to go into the township to see the truth. It was definitely beyond words. I felt safe the whole time and I’m a solo female traveler. Very nice people.
