Prima era un mercato arabo e fino a pochi anni fa c'era un mercato di strada chiamato "popolarmente" martedì, è stato Enrique IV a concedere a Toledo un mercato ogni martedì, una tradizione che viene da lontano e che si svolge attualmente nel Parque de la Vega. Zocodover viene dall'arabo, significa mercato delle bestie e questa piazza è stata usata anche per eseguire pubblicamente il condannato.
La chiesa di Santo Tomé o Santo Tomás Apóstol si trova nel centro storico della città spagnola di Toledo, ed è stata fondata dopo la riconquista di questa città dal re Alfonso VI de León.1 Appare citata nel XII secolo, come costruita su il sito di un'antica moschea dell'XI secolo. Questa moschea, insieme ad altri della città, fu usata come chiese cristiane senza grandi cambiamenti, poiché nessun edificio fu distrutto nella cattura della città. Tuttavia, all'inizio del XIV secolo, essendo in uno stato fatiscente, fu completamente ricostruito da Gonzalo Ruiz de Toledo, Signore di Orgaz, e il vecchio minareto della moschea fu trasformato in un campanile in stile mudéjar.3 La sua fama è dovuta a tutti per l'alloggio all'interno, il dipinto La sepoltura del conte di Orgaz di El Greco, che può essere visto accedendo al retro della chiesa.

Oggi le cattedrali sono testimoni di quella cultura e messaggio di trascendenza e valori per la gente di oggi.
Santa María la Blanca è un tempio situato nella città spagnola di Toledo. Costruito nel 1180 come sinagoga e, avendo funzionato come tale per 211 anni, fu espropriato e trasformato in chiesa a seguito del pogrom del 1391. Attualmente l'edificio appartiene alla Chiesa cattolica, ma non vi è alcun culto in esso . È aperto al pubblico e funge da museo o centro in cui si svolgono attività sia culturali che educative.

All the highlights hit in one short day, plenty of time to explore on own i would have preferred an English only tour

We did not get the tour we booked, so we were disappointed. We had booked the tour with 3 hours of free time and the panoramic train, but instead, we were placed with a more structured walking tour, and no panoramic train. We were looking forward to a large block of time to explore on our own, but instead we had to stay with the group for most of the tour. The guide was lovely, and tried to offer us the opportunity to visit the cathedral, at an extra charge, which we did not want to do. However, this meant that we had to sit and wait near the cathedral for 45 minutes while the rest of the group went inside. I wanted a large block of time to explore on our own, rather than being in a large group the whole time. While the guide was very kind and knowledgeable, this was not the tour that I booked.

We are sorry about the misunderstanding, we had booked your panoramic train, however, you were kindly given the option, if willing, to do instead of taking the panoramic train, taking the panoramic bus, plus a visit with tickets to two monuments with our 30 people group, and you decided to change your tour booked to this second option. You had a total of nearly 3 hours free time in different parts of the city, including those 45 minutes in the Cathedral area. We understand that because of the heat, you preferred just to sit in a bar instead of exploring that picturesque area on your own. We apologize for not having met your expectations, the choice was given to you with the best intention of giving you a second option, being of course not mandatory, but optional. Toledo is beautiful, so much history to see and experience. I did the half day trip which was wonderful, but the cathedral isn't a part of this due to so much else to see. While I recommend the half day, to see the cathedral with the full day tour would have been even better.

This is an 8 hour trip but was advertised as 5.5 hours. Travelers should know there is a lot of waking. There isn’t a lot of free time other than the lunch hour but an hour for lunch was sufficient time to eat. The earphones and listening device provided was great to hear the tour guide throughout the tour. Very informative about synagogue and cathedral. My 15 year old liked it too.
