Il complesso archeologico di Sillustani (FUNERAL TOWERS) è situato sull'altopiano circondato da una magica laguna chiamata Umayo di straordinaria bellezza nella città occidentale di Puno. Sillustani è una delle necropoli più importanti del mondo andino conosciuta per le sue gigantesche torri funerarie "CHULLPAS". I famosi Chullpas sono torri costruite in pietra e utilizzate da diverse culture, tra cui i collas e in seguito dagli Incas. Il chullpa della lucertola si distingue per essere il sito più alto, raggiungendo più di 12 metri di altezza. Nelle vicinanze è possibile vedere alcuni waru waru, che sono tumuli artificiali progettati per proteggere le colture da gelate e inondazioni. Con fortuna a Sillustani puoi anche osservare i cinghiali delle Indie, uccelli come fenicotteri e altri animali selvatici delle Ande.

Itinerario
Il prelievo dal tuo hotel avverrà alle 14:00 con un autobus privato. Ci vorranno circa 45 minuti per raggiungere il sito archeologico di Sillustani. Qui, vedrete tombe funebri Inca e Preincas. Dopo visiterai anche la laguna di Umayo prima di tornare a Puno. Ritornerai a Puno verso le 17:30.

Excellent half-term tour! The guide Alejandro made all the difference with his sympathy and knowledge. The route is great, passing through the Puma Mirador, visiting a local family and ending in the impressive ruins of Sillustani. The archaeological site is next to a wonderful lake, which brings a unique atmosphere of peace to the place. I highly recommend!

Bit of a rocky start as we were picked up on foot and then stood awkwardly on a corner for about 20 mins or more waiting to be picked up on a big bus - however the tour itself was really fun and super informative: we had an excellent guide who was full of info and gave a really thorough tour of the site.

Overall, the trip was very informative. Our group was bilingual so the group did the tour in Spanish in English. There are two things that I didn’t like. The first is that the tour went two hours past the time that it said that it was going to end, which made me late forother plans that I have that evening. The second is that when it started raining the tour guide ran off and left us behind. I wish that he would’ve waited for us.

Tour was very good and guide was knowledgeable and very helpful with my friend who was having some difficulties walking the steps.
This trip exceeded our expectations. Our guide spoke good English, was well informed and enthusiastic and provide lot of additional stories about the life of local people. We had a couple of small but interesting, genuine and engaging stops, especially a visit of a local farmer where we learned about their daily life, diet, and crop treatment (note the best prices for hand made souvenirs). The final stop at Silusstani and the visit of impressive burial towers (chullpas) is an absolute MUST when touring Puno. This is a treat for those interested to learn more about pre-Inca and Inca civilizations and those who would appreciate a stunning landscape for photographs. Absolutely worth it.
