Poi passerete attraverso il Passo Selim, che collega la parte settentrionale dell'Armenia con quella meridionale. Poi andrai nella città resort di Jermuk, famosa per le sue acque minerali, che hanno varie proprietà curative. Anche a Jermuk vedrete una cascata con il nome originale "Capelli di sirena". Visiterai la cantina Hin Areni, dove degusterai l'unico vino armeno.

Il fascino e la "perla" dell'Armenia montuosa è il Lago Sevan, uno dei più grandi laghi d'acqua dolce d'alta quota del mondo. Si trova a circa 1900 m sul livello del mare. Il lago è di origine vulcanica ed è circondato da montagne alte 3000 metri e oltre. Lo splendido paesaggio e l'acqua cristallina costituiscono i presupposti piacevoli per un ottimo riposo. Il lago è famoso anche per la sua penisola e il complesso della chiesa medievale, costruita nell'874.
La chiesa di Hayravank è costruita su un'alta roccia sulla riva del lago Sevan. Non si hanno testimonianze scritte circa la data della sua fondazione, tuttavia, secondo le soluzioni costruttive, si è guadagnato un posto tra i pilastri architettonici del IX secolo. Questa accogliente chiesa è costruita in pietra grezza e sembra piuttosto modesta.
L'arte del khachkar (croce di pietra) è la manifestazione più originale della cultura medievale armena. Noratus, considerata davvero una foresta di khachkar e un museo a cielo aperto, espone centinaia di khachkar, i più belli dei quali sono quelli cosiddetti "ricamati", tipici dei secoli XIII-XIV. Questo è un luogo unico, dove si può rivelare lo sviluppo dell'arte khachkarial nel suo processo storico. L'arte della croce armena è inclusa nella lista rappresentativa dell'UNESCO del patrimonio culturale immateriale dell'umanità.
Il passo Selim, che collega le regioni di Vayots Dzor e Gegharkunik, è stato un'importante via commerciale da tempi immemorabili. Di qua passavano le lunghe carovane con i cammelli carichi. Percependo la necessità di avere un luogo dove fermarsi dopo viaggi lunghi e faticosi, il duca armeno Chesar Orbelian nel 1332 ordinò la costruzione di un caravanserraglio su questa lunga strada tortuosa del passo Selim. Si tratta di un edificio a tre navate, illuminato solo dalle finestre sul soffitto in quanto, per motivi di sicurezza, non erano previste finestre sulle pareti e ancora oggi la misteriosa oscurità sembra custodire alcune voci di quei tempi lontani...
La famosa località climatica Jermuk si trova nella parte nord-orientale di Vayots Dzor. Le acque minerali di Jermuk sono famose fin dall'alto medioevo per le loro proprietà medicinali. Per i visitatori è stata costruita una speciale galleria per bere, lungo la quale sono allineate le sale pompe con acqua minerale. La temperatura dell'acqua varia dai 30 ai 50 gradi C.
Vayots Dzor e il villaggio di Areni in particolare sono stati per millenni la culla della vinificazione armena. La fabbrica vinicola "Hin Areni" apre le porte di questa regione al mondo per mostrare i vitigni storici e autoctoni armeni. In cantina le tradizioni storiche della vinificazione ben si sposano con le moderne attrezzature all'avanguardia. La fabbrica vinicola "Hin Areni" ha la capacità di lavorare oltre 250 tonnellate di uva.

I would like to share my honest feedback as this was my first experience of this kind, and I hope it may help others who are considering this tour. Overall, I found the itinerary quite long and tiring, with a significant amount of time spent in the bus on winding mountain roads. In my opinion, Armenia has many more interesting and rewarding places to explore. Although Lake Sevan is mentioned in the program, the actual experience mainly consists of a stop at a small monastery, followed by driving past the lake. The visit to the cemetery felt unnecessary and not very engaging. The Selim Pass is beautiful, but the journey is very fast-paced, leaving little time to truly enjoy or photograph the scenery. The lunch was enjoyable, and the waterfall and mineral springs were pleasant stops, although they required a separate detour rather than being naturally on the route. The winery visit felt rather basic compared to other tastings I have experienced, with limited storytelling and a simple tasting of three wines with light snacks. Overall, the tour lasted around 12 hours, and in my personal opinion, it did not fully justify the time or cost. The guide, Karen, is a very kind and knowledgeable person, but the delivery felt quite monotone, which made it harder to stay engaged throughout the day. This is simply personal feedback and is not intended to offend anyone.

I went with a buddy of mine and we had a great time. Beautiful landscapes and sights, well organized, with a very friendly guide, who could tell a lot about the history and culture. I would definitely recommend that you try a tour with these guys.

Everything was great from easy booking online to easy check in, then departing on time. The bus was comfortable with good leg room. The tour guide ( Marineh) and the driver ( Karen) have excellent hospitality, customer service and communication skills. I enjoyed the tour very much, good explanation in both Russian and English languages. I would recommend making the lunch break a little bit longer, the food was very delicious. I'm very proud as an Armenian to have such a great tour company in Armenia, highly recommended and will book other tours with Hyur Service
