È il più grande e il più antico dei sei musei sotto l'amministrazione del Ghana Museums and Monuments Board, aperto il 5 marzo 1957 dalla duchessa di Kent, la principessa Marina. ..Gli oggetti della sezione archeologica spaziano dall'età della pietra al passato storico recente. Quelli in mostra permanente presso la galleria etnografica includono insegne del capo, strumenti musicali indigeni del Ghana, pesi d'oro, perline, tessuti tradizionali, sgabelli e ceramiche. L'Arco dell'Indipendenza ad Accra, in Ghana, fa parte della Piazza dell'Indipendenza che contiene monumenti alla lotta per l'indipendenza del Ghana, tra cui l'Arco dell'Indipendenza, la Porta della Stella Nera e il Monumento del Giorno della Liberazione.

Il Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park è un sito della memoria dedicato al primo primo ministro e presidente panafricano del Ghana, il dottor Kwame Nkrumah, che visse dal 21 settembre 1909 al 27 aprile 1972.
Labadi Beach o più propriamente conosciuta come La Pleasure Beach è la spiaggia più frequentata della costa del Ghana. È una delle bellissime spiagge di Accra ed è gestita dalla gente del posto..un posto dove rilassarsi e sedersi dopo un tour soleggiato e sudato ad Accra..questa località offre cibi e bevande locali, continentali e internazionali di diverso tipo..è qui che il nostro tour finisce..

We had the best experience exploring Accra with Kwame Tours! Everything from booking to communications was smooth and easy. The tour was well planned and filled with meaningful stops like the Osu Castle, Independence Square and the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum where we really felt the history and pride of Ghana. Our tour guide, Clinton, and the driver were amazing! So friendly and knowledgeable and fun to be around. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and learned a lot. This tour made our visit to Accra truly unforgettable. Highly recommend Kwame Tours if you want to experience the real heart of the city.

I took two tours with Kwame. First I did the Accra City tour with Clinton. He was such a warm, knowledgeable guide who went above and beyond to ensure we had an excellent time and got to experience everything we wanted to see. When we shared that we wanted to see the beach. He even made sure we stopped at a beach stop on the water for lunch. He was exceptional. Later that week, I took the botanical gardens, coco farm and ATV tour with Daniel. Who was equally as outstanding. Riding the ATVs was so much fun and I felt so safe, even though this was my first time doing this. After interacting with both guides, I can only conclude that Kwame tours is the best and makes sure everyone they hire the passion for the work is evident. Daniel, even compiled sent a custom video of us riding on the ATVs so we would have it later for the memories of our trip. If I had more days in Ghana, I would I booked more tours with them. I just ran out of time and had to return home.

We had an incredible tour with Clinton! He took us to the National Museum, the Kwame Nkrumah Museum, the art shops, Independence Square, and Labadi Beach. He was knowledgeable and excellent! A must book!!

We had a mostly wonderful experience on the Accra Detailed City Tour. Clinton, our tour guide, was truly exceptional—warm, welcoming, and attentive to my family. He made us feel at ease throughout the day and skillfully navigated interactions with vendors, always advocating for fair and respectful exchanges. We especially enjoyed our dinner at Labadi Restaurant, where we had meaningful conversations about everyday life in Accra and the U.S.—a highlight that added depth to the experience. That said, we were dismayed by the lack of upfront communication regarding itinerary changes. We toured on a Sunday and were simply told the city would be "calm." However, key sites like the W.E.B. DuBois Museum, and Makola Market were closed—something that was never mentioned in advance. These were locations we were especially looking forward to, so it was a real letdown to find them excluded. Had we been notified in advance, we would have simply selected the next day. We’d still recommend this tour—particularly because of Clinton’s outstanding guidance—but with one caveat: If any part of the itinerary is subject to change based on the day of the week, that should be clearly communicated beforehand so travelers can plan accordingly or adjust expectations.

The tour was very educational. The only downside is the fact that the driver was late and the vehicle used with 3 adults in the back was very small and cramped. We were not able to get to the last place because we started late. Time is of the essence and a more comfortable vehicle would be nice. Other than that, Clinton our tour guide was great. He is very knowledgeable.
